The Dem senators facing tough reelection fights next year are really going to be sweating it out.

I read somewhere (can't remember exactly) Rehnquist was very protocol-minded. When this very private man made a very public statement regarding his employment status 2 things came to mind:

1. He is po'd the press had relegated him to "Dead Man Walking."

2. The speculation was bad for the process of picking a replacement for O'Connor and bad for the court.

{Please Justice O'Connor--please stay. Your husband won't know the difference. And we will have you sitting in the "Big Chair" while it is still warm.")

I agree.

If Mark Levin has done his homework and has good things to say about him, or if Ann Coulter says good things about him, then I don't need to watch any news about this pick--that is all I needed to know.

levin has just given him his seal of approval

Could you please be specific in which Levin gives a seal of approval? Mark(good) or Carl "Lenin" Levin?

Typical "I'm-never-wrong" retort. I have no respect for you people who can't admit you made a mistake (after mistake, after mistake).

He put in his time advising the Bush legal team in Florida during the battle over the 2000 presidential election .....

This makes John Roberts unsuitable since he helped Bush steal the 2000 election and probably had a hand in the 2004 theft as well.

(my predicted quoted you will see on DU shortly)

Good choice, a solid double, but really a missed opportunity for a grand slam home run.

I think the Prez will have some time to manufacture some runs.

Moveon.org is now checking how to impeach a SC Justice.

Also, Chuckie Schmucker says Roberts should be fired. He was seconded by JFK and HRC who happened to be passing by the microphone.
