Exactly what Bill Sammon said last night during Brit's roundtable discussion.

Only political junkies care about that stuff. I used to be one but have become less of one so I kinda have a feel of the big news in relation to the apolitcal... right now, I have no idea what is so interesting about the Plame case (as it doesnt even sound interesting in lamestream media) but I do know about the USSC vacancy and have a passing interest in who it will be.

Just sayin'

I want to see the media's jaws drop when 43 calls a prime time press conference to re-nominate Bork.

Bork is too old. Name one Scalia's sons.

Are you implying that our beloved President has a mean streak?

Not as much as his consigliere, Dick Cheney. I love Dick -- he IS a wartime consigliere!

Please ping me with a link to the Burdine decision. Yes, I am both a lawyer and a detail junkie.

Rush just played the bite from today's reporterette asking GWB about Edith Clem-ONT. Called her a high-school paper reporter!

National Review has some links on Clement if anyone is interested:

http://bench.nationalreview.com/

Good news, some lefty site writes about her:
"The buzz around the rightwing is that Bush's choice for the Supreme Court is Fifth Circuit Judge Edith Clement-Brown. I actually first heard this two weeks ago from a former clerk of one of the current Justices, so I was a bit prepared.

So how bad would she be? She qualifies as a "stealth candidate" in having fewer published views than some alternatives, but the evidence is that she's a hard right judicial activist, especially on the issue of gutting the Congress's regulatory power in the name of "federalism.""

Who is that? Laura Graham? It's hard to tell, it's such a small image of her face.

And, if she isn't dedicated to overturning Roe, Bush will have broken his promise to appoint a Scalia-like originalist. That isn't excusable or forgiveable. And, given the rampant spending, the fact nothing has been done about illegal immigration, I really don't see a reason to vote Republican again if the Republicans aren't going to fix the tyrannical Supreme Court.

Bush will end up a bigger failure than his father if he breaks this promise and the Republican party will lose millions of votes.

The Road to Roe, goes through Steinberg v. Carhart, and PP v. Casey.

You dont get to Roe, without that, PLUS getting Stevens or Ginsburg off the Bench.

"Partly because of this strategery, I think that if the President can't get a Conservative approved as a replacement for Stevens or Ginsberg due to a filibuster then he should nominate Jeff Sessions. That would effectively nuke the Senate by forcing the 'Rat Senators to choose between alienating their base or causing a complete meltdown of comity and cooperation."

DAMN! I love it! Now THAT'S thinking!

Did you know that Sessions would be on the C of A except he was blocked by George Mitchell??? So....this would be the most awesome piece of poetic justice in a long time!

You know, FDR was a freaking communist. But he understood power and he knew how to wield it. In that sense, putting Black on the court and doing it with a one finger salute to the Senate is truly masterful...brilliantly confrontational, really legendary.

I love it....wish you were Prez!

Alas, though, I think it is going to be the moderate woman with the beautiful hair cut....

The Lindsey rumor has been going on down here for weeks. On several other threads I picked him as a dark horse. I would be glad to rid him of his senate seat here, but SC? not sure I like that either.
