Thanks. I agree wholeheartedly. The state of our public high schools is a disgrace. Our country is indeed a perfect example of the ignornant electing the horrible. As an Australian pal e-mailed me just now, "US is going to pay an increasing price for its lack of attention to history..."
The aptly named "Dick" Durbin should be expelled by his colleagues.
hillary always gets away with non answers and NO ONE will hold her feet to the fire for it. It's frightening that people let her get by with so much and that's why we'd better work our butts off to make sure she never gets the democrat nomination, even if it means we all have to change registrations, just to vote in the primaries.

Here is the truth, if you can take it: Firstly, I made a comment to another poster about Durbin (post # 58) and the damage he has done, and what could or should be done with him.
Then (post # 200), YOU began to be hostile as you wrote to me that my remarks were stupid and suggested that I was uncivilized. You wrote, “ we act like we're civilzed here .... making stupid comments like that serves no purpose” Got that??? Look back and check it out if you have the nerve.
So, get it straight, I was defending myself from your unwarranted “attack”.
So understand, I never go on the offense, but when I am “attacked", especially wrongly, I defend myself. Got it?
And, if you do not know the incredible damage that is done and WILL BE the result of Durbin’s disgusting remarks, then you need to think again!

You know that, I know that but the MSM/OLd Media keeps touting him as a possible. They may get it one day. I doubt it though.

Yes, I realize we are making headway in Iraq. But the perception is that our enemy's have the initiative. The perception is that our soldiers are just targets that will get shot or blown up while they 'flounder' in Iraq.
I don't have TV or cable right now. So I'm a bit in the dark on what's being shown, so please correct me if I'm wrong:
The way to shatter that perception would be to show our troops on the offensive, show humvees in motion, show shots being fired at our enemies, etc. The same kind of photos that were shown when we invaded Iraq. Instead, we get drab reports and have little left to think about, other than our dead and wounded.
And while I agree it is best with ideal support back at home to not show many pics, support must be shored up. Without enough support at home, the rats will in fact have their wet dream realized: they will cause a repeat of Vietnam.
Second Point:
A more unified Iraq will not stop foreign fanatics from crossing the Iraqi border. And we may need a raid across one of those borders now-and-then to disrupt that flow, if not outright invasion.

I'd be happy to see him impeached, recall-voted out, and/or stripped of committee seats.
Zell's some guy. You know, I'd like to see Hannity run, being serious for a moment. Name recognition. Strong, loyal support. Strong on borders. Strong on every conservative issue. Tough. Leadership qualities. And as conservatives go: even well connected in the media.
As for debating skills and speech-making skills, he's top notch. And most importantly, sad to say, the ladies want to see him in Playgirl.
He could run right from his radio station. He could have remotes in every state in the US, and still run his program. Heck, he does that anyway.

It's getting more clear by the day that [the] Dick Turban bit off more than he can chew. For all the whining the left have done about our dead and injured, isn't it amazing how much they worry about the terrorists' comfort? I guess Durbin executed an Operation Spear of his own.
