My open letter to Turbin Durbin
An Angry American | 06/16/05 | coffee260

Posted on 06/16/2005 9:11:42 AM PDT by coffee260

Dear Senator Durbin,

I am a former US Army soldier who served our country during the first Gulf war. American patriotism is something I hold dear to my heart. I support our troops who are right now in a war that no one in America chose or want to fight. However, we have to fight and win this war on terror and do what ever it takes to have victory. That means hold our citizens and our public officials responsible for their actions that prevent Victory. That brings me to the comments you made on the floor of the Senate on 06/14/05, comparing our brave and honorable soldiers to Nazi’s and Communist’s. I have read the transcripts and watched your speech live and can't for the life of me understand why someone of your stature who has been blessed by the American people fails them so terribly bad. You have demonstrated your hatred and distain for our troops and for their safety by letting our enemy know that a US Senator gives the go ahead on the targeting and killing of Nazi like people who behave like Pol Pot. Those people you refer to are American soldiers who are protecting you and your family from being slaughtered like farm animals. Now that the enemies of America know that one of our political parties agree with and openly support them what would you like the soldiers in the 120 degree heat in Iraq who are now less safe because of your very Un-Patriotic speech, that now puts a bulls-eye on their backs, that says kill me I'm just like a Nazi, to do. I am very blessed that you were not around in 1991 when Gulf war 1 was in progress. I am not speaking as a Republican or a Democrat. I am speaking as an American who is every willing now as I was 14 years ago to fight and to die if need be for my country. That is why I have decided to contact my local officials, my Church and anyone who will listen to me in calling for your resignation. I can not and will not stop there because the lives of brave American soldiers are in danger because of you and the Democratic Party in America. I grew up fearing the Soviet Union and communism and that fear was a clear mission statement for me as an American to defend my country in any way I possibly could from its enemies domestic and abroad. You senator are one of America’s enemies domestic. You senator have demonstrated your clear and constant resistances to American safety and the safety of Americans and that to me is the characteristic of an enemy of America. I along with every other American deserve better than that. An apology from you and along with that apology should be a letter of regret, admission of wrong doing and your resignation from the US Senate immediately should be enough to put this horrific act to rest. Walk away with some dignity and do what is 100% right for America. Resign because America's future is in danger with people like you in the highest offices of our government.

Durbin, like Benedict Arnold, has sided with the enemy.

What would be nice to hear a number of Senate and House Republicans get up and show REAL anger at what Turbin said.

Oh, I know, that would take guts.

Time to update an old phrase from the 60's "Dick Nixon Durbin before he dicks you"

Here's my letter.

Dear Dick,
You obviously don't know what happened at the Nazi death camps. You are an embarrassment as an American, as a Senator, and as a man.

Nice letter. Beyond the obvious insult this is to our soldiers...and the danger this rhetoric poses to their (and our) safety, is the insult this poses to all those who have suffered under such tyranny.

Durbin didn't just attack the so-called "pro-war/pro-Bush crowd"...he attacked every Holocaust and Communist survivor by marginalizing their suffering in comparison to those at Gitmo. These Democrats are insulting everyone.

First, thank you for your service. Our Congress needs to hear from us on behalf of those who serve to protect this nation. All of us should take time out to inform our representatives what we expect from them. Sen Durbin should be shamed and admonished for his outrageous remarks.

Dick Dirtbag should be ashamed of himself. I don't agree with Michael Savage on much, but he's right when he says this turd should be thrown out of the senate.

Wonderful letter. And many thanks for your service to our country. I sent Durbin an e-mail (thanks to the FReeper for the address) suggesting he retract and apologize for his knowingly false statements. He is indeed an ass.

Great letter.

I am from Illinois. He is the worst senator that I can remember in my life time. He couldn't hold a candle to the likes of Senator Dirkson or even some from his own party.

This Gitmo thing is pure politics and that's the only thing this guy knows.

His original comment of supporting the troops but not the war is disgusting. How can you support the troops and not the war?

Idiot...

I totally agree that the Democrats are enemies of America. We have always been told that we would be taken over from within and it is and has been happening. Usually they use the technique of disinformation. They don't want the rest of America to know what their intentions really are. Whenever they come out from under their blanket of secrecy, they inadvertently announce their true intentions. This shows that Durbin and the other extremes in his circle are defending their allies - Al Quaeda! May the last thing he hear be Allah Akbar! Just wish someone would pick up the banner and point this out to the rest of America.

Good letter. I'm sure Dick will use it for toilet paper; that's the respect he's displayed for decent patriotic types like you.
