Rojda was 13 when she was raped two years ago by a neighbor in this hardscrabble Kurdish province. In order to "cleanse" her honor, she was forced to marry her attacker in an unofficial Islamic-style ceremony. He later was convicted of raping a 7-year-old boy and has been imprisoned.
But Rojda's troubles were far from over, according to an account of her ordeal provided by her family and attorneys. She allegedly was raped again in March by her father-in-law, who she said demanded she prostitute herself to earn her keep. When Rojda refused, the relatives and attorneys charge, a group of men held her down and sliced off her nose.
Police raided their home after being tipped off by neighbors, who heard her cries. The men were briefly detained, then set free — though they have since been rearrested.
Rojda's story is not unusual: Human rights groups and Turkish officials say violence against women is widespread in Turkey, though statistics are hard to come by because so many attacks go unreported. They blame the violence on poverty, a lack of education and the patriarchal structure prevalent in much of Turkish society.

Religionists of all stripes can argue about differing points of their creeds, but Islam is a slam dunk, brainwashing, superstition, that has no place in any culture. I can just see my preacher saying I must stone my daughter or cut off her nose. Or how about blowing yourself up hoping to put an eye out with your clavicle or something. Alas, that's the conclusion I've come to. Just what would be the method for doing this, since there are over a billion of them worldwide, including the NON-ASSIMILATING Muslim population here, which was 600,000 in 1960 and is now SIX MILLION and growing.
How can we "remove" a billion 7th century people "from the face of the earth??"

I wasn't trying to say that it was a Christian practice. I'm saying that the crap is advocated by a gnarly backwards culture & Islam followed in that area, rather than starting it. If you say it's due to Islam, you're missing much of the reason the crap goes on.
It's part of the religion of Islam and stated in the koran. That's the point I was trying to make.
It was going on before the Koran was written. The Koran perpetuated what was already there & it also kept a huge pile of people stuck in the dark ages by embracing it as a "good" practice.

It would kinda be like the situation we find where you have preachers that have somehow found justification for "gay rights" in something written in the Bible.

There are no comparisons between Christianity and Islam. In re to Christianity, the NT (peaceful verses) abrogated OT (violent verses). In re to Islam, Medinan (violent verses) abrogated Meccan (peaceful).

Are you on something? Honor killings are NOT Biblical. A Christian is one who follows Christ and how you follow Christ is following what is in the BIBLE!
As for clergy that justify "gay rights" in the Bible - LOL! They sure aren't "Christians". That's not Biblical either.
As I stated earlier, honor killings ARE IN THE KORAN and part of their religion. Honor killings are NOT justified in the Bible and not part of Christianity. See the difference?
