It's part of the religion of Islam and stated in the koran. That's the point I was trying to make.
It was going on before the Koran was written. The Koran perpetuated what was already there & it also kept a huge pile of people stuck in the dark ages by embracing it as a "good" practice.
Any time there is a criticism of Islam, some clueless wonder will deflect to Christianity. Never fails.
BTW, the bigger point I was trying to make was that you could Christianize these people & you'd discover that there would be more Christian "honor killings" than you ever imagined. It would kinda be like the situation we find where you have preachers that have somehow found justification for "gay rights" in something written in the Bible.
