I wasn't trying to say that it was a Christian practice. I'm saying that the crap is advocated by a gnarly backwards culture & Islam followed in that area, rather than starting it. If you say it's due to Islam, you're missing much of the reason the crap goes on.
It's part of the religion of Islam and stated in the koran. That's the point I was trying to make.
Honor killings are done by Islamics because of their barbarous religion. The number of honor killings done by Christians is infinitesimal compared to the Muhammadan numbers. So ya think Islam and Islamic culture just might have something to do with the prevalence of honor killings. Huh?

Forgive me for jumping in, but whether a backward culture was the original cause or not seems irrelevant. So what if the practice pre-dates islam? It's islam that chose to (and chooses to) embrace the practice as something dictated by their God. It's Islam above all other societal forces that currently provides the excuse for the willfully backward to remain backward. And it provides the muscle to hold back or destroy those who strain toward the light.
You want to seperate the culture from the religion, but with islam that can't be done.
