CNN's Kelly Arena reports that one man is being held by Maryland State Police at an airport in Frederick, MD. The police are waiting for federal authorities to arrive on the scene.
The man is said to be the pilot of the small aircraft that triggered an evacuation of government buildings in downtown Washington when he reportedly violated restricted airspace.
Frederick, MD. is located about an hour northwest of Washington, D.C. along the I-270 corridor.

It began raining rotting produce, and then there was this horrible mooing noise and a huge cow slammed to the ground just behind me, killing my Executive Assistant. We were forced to hide in the forest and wait for nightfall.

There's no connection between the airport at Frederick and the work at Fort Dietrich, so tinfoil can be removed.

A nuke?
Heck, I doubt a two seat cessna like that could carry a pilot and a 'suitcase' nuke. The payload is very small.
And ebola? Do you have any idea how that is spread or did you just list the first disease that popped in your head?

This incident made us look ridiculous. Our leaders had to evacuate the house & senate. People were running around in a panic. The people who hate us are laughing their butts off at this fiasco. Someone better be punished for this embarassment.

A suitcase nuke weighs about 500 lbs I think. Technically, they are mines IIRC.

What if this guy did it on purpose?
Sounds like he did. Just heard it reported that the authorities started getting concerned when the plane was 17 miles out of the restricted airspace. They tried reaching him by radio and he wouldn't answer. No wonder the alerts were given. At the very least, the guy needs to lose his newly gotten pilots license.

Judging from the questions during the WH presser, the media is most worried about why they didn't get better evacuation notice in the WH Pressroom during this event.

I don't think it was embarrassing. The press seems to be put off about being told to get out or go to the basement.
I rather be safe that sorry and evacuate when you have an unknown aircraft displaying cat-mouse flight characteristics with an F-16.
If something horrible did happen and there was no evacuation, people would be complaining about that too.
You just can't please some people no matter what you do.
Trust me, I will lose no sleep with France et all laughing at us.
