Her work in the Church will have its fruits, accruing both to her and her colleagues.
Maybe it's co-incidence, but the only child of ours who has given us more than a handful of trouble is the one who managed to evade any sort of volunteering in the Church.

Read the USA TODAY article again. It says "converts coming into the Church this Easter." That means through the RCIA process. Infants do not come into the Church through the RCIA, so they are not included in the total.
Jones' numbers lowball the number of converts coming into the Church.
Evidently another has joined in the race with Warthog for "composition of the most contumacious claptrap of the day" award.
The Pope, Vicar of Christ and successor of Peter, personally signs off on the formulation of the Mass and all its contents/translations.
Feel free to deny his authority on the matter.
At Easter we had two thurifers so that one could keep the smoke going while the other slipped behind the roodscreen to recharge. They and the priest censed everything in sight thoroughly and repeatedly. There was a high wind on the evening of the Vigil Mass . . . had a little trouble making fire out front on the steps, then once it got going there was real danger of somebody catching on fire as the flames roared. It was great! Even us choristers up in the rear balcony were enveloped in the rising cloud of sandalwood and frankincense (at least that's what it smells like - is there an official formula?)
A good list. I would expand a bit more on no. 17, "Showed us how to live." I believe John Paul was an inspiring example of personal sanctity, for some, the only such example they had ever been exposed to. This is why there was such a huge outpouring of emotion at his death, much to the consternation of our schismatic friends.
We're working on him - he is definitely a work in progress. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated! I'm trying to lure him in through the Youth Group.

Exactly. That is why I hold him responsible for bungling the translation of the Bible.
I don't blame him completely. As he got older and sicker, maybe some of his advisors tried to spare him anguish by not informing him of the extent of the problem.

If you don't know the answer, I suggest a visit to Poland or any of the other nations that used to labor under Soviet tyranny and are now free. In fact, I suggest taking your disdain for John Paul to Krakow--perhaps advertise it at one of the typically packed Masses in Poland--and see how the locals react.

There was a New York Times article shortly after John Paul's death entitled "Young Catholics try to reclaim traditonal standards on sex," or something like it. It provided both anecdotal and statistical evidence that younger Catholics were more orthodox on matters of sexual morality, because of John Paul's teachings.
Possible. It wasn't covered in music Theory 101, nor Accounting...
What disdain? The fact that I don't hail him as one of the top three Popes in the history of the Church within 30 days after his death?
The Church is growing exponentially now, with the sacraments in the vernacular.
Latin is not something magical, Mershon. You seem to assert that the entire future of the Catholic Church hinges on a return to Latin in the liturgy. That's absurd on its face.
