Dr. Cyril H. Wecht, the well-known forensic pathologist and coroner of Allegheny County, Pa., told listeners of a morning radio show that he was denied permission to observe Terri Schiavo's autopsy, despite the wishes of her parents.
A medical examiner in Pinellas County, Florida, is conducting an autopsy that could help determine what Schiavo's state of consciousness was and whether she was abused by her husband, as the Schindlers allege. Wecht, appearing on the syndicated America's Morning Show with Quinn and Rose, based in Pittsburgh, said that an investigator working for the Schindler's law firm had called him on Thursday to see whether he would be agreeable to observing the autopsy.
Dr. Wecht told Quinn and Rose he was certainly be agreeable to that, but that several hours later he received word that the medical examiner had declined to give him permission.
Dr. Wecht told the morning hosts that he considered this a mistake, according to Rose Somma Tennent. "He said that, if this were in [his] office, [he] would have said sure - not just because of professional courtesy, but because of the controversy sourrounding this case," Somma Tennet said.
Calls made during the show to the medical examiner's office were not returned.
The results from the autopsy are expected in a few weeks.

Has anyone started to wonder just why a woman who was not terminal was in a hospice?
Hospice is supposed to be used only for 6 months by the terminally ill, not for 5 years as happened here.

I don't know about the particular facility where Mrs. Schiavo was confined, but some facilities provide not only hospice care, but skilled nursing and convalescent care, among others.
It seems that the cult of death, the Church of Scientology, world-wide headquarters in Clearwater, has the whole area sealed up - and I wouldn't doubt if they have control over the ME, too.
I have been watching, reading everything I can get my hands on about the people involved in this travesty..I personally would like to recommend to the ACLU, since they are so concerned about people on death row getting a humane death penalty, that they turn to Mr. Felos, who has claimed over and over again, that Terry Schiavos death was painless and she just went to sleep yada yada yada...that they implement the starvation and dehydration for all death row inmates. After all Felos said it was so peaceful

Yes...and it would seem to me that Mr. Schiavo cannot possibly get a copy of the report in advance (or today as some have said), if it takes that long for an autopsy to be completed.
So that...and that I haven't found anything on the web to corroborate the story that Mr. Schiavo is getting an advance copy of the report, makes me wonder if this is yet another rumor or half-truth...like so many others in this sad situation.
I hope that the Schindlers, once they have gotten through the worst of their grief, will take up the cause, with all their supporters behind them, to sue Michael Schiavo and his accomplices for the rest of his life -- till he is penniless and even the brotherhood of the scientology/euthanasia crowd find him a burden and pull his "feeding tube." He has served their purposes - he is of no use to them anymore -- watch and see.

But I'm just saying...I don't know if she was getting "hospice" care per se...maybe it was more like skilled nursing or convalescent.
Also, there have been a few reports saying that Mrs. Schiavo's care was being paid, at least in part, by the state (Medicaid????). My guess is that with govermental agencies, the definition of what type of care she was getting would not to us laymen be considered hospice care, but it would under whatever whacko guidelines the state, or the state agency, has in place. And trust me, state guidelines for a lot of things are whacko.
Medicare, in home, hospice is for six months after a sign off from two doctors. Then it can be renewed every 6 months -- again with two doctors agreeing. I talked to a hospice social worker about how long it could go on and she said indefinitely. She said they had patients in the program for over two years -- at that time.
I wouldn't doubt it. Check it out -- the world headquarters for the Church of Scientology is in Clearwater and they "own" the area - politicians, sherrifs, judges -- they promote their cultic beliefs through litigation.
Are you sure he is a neutral third party and not bought by the death cult that is headquartered in Clearwater?
AMEN, AMEN, AMEN -- I have been trying to tell people about the Scientology connection. This is not the first person that they have isolated and dehydrated to death for their cause. This is a BIG LEGAL WIN FOR THEM and was headed up by their High Priest, George Felos. You bet the ME is either one of them, or is being bought by them. They "own" the whole Clearwater area. It needs to be investigated and exposed!!
It's positively, incestuously a Scientological conspiracy. Have no doubt about it -- the ME is either being bought by them or is one of them.
I don't know the answers, but it's early on in this, and I think we're going to see some surprising things revealed as this all unfolds.
That is the courts making sure no conclusion but the one they want is rendered.

This is typical Yankee ignorance and prejudice. Pinellas County is full of Northerners and other assorted snowbirds, so don't resort to snotty remarks about Southerners being inbred. Both the Schindlers and the Schiavos are perfect examples of the Yankee presence.
