Schindler Coroner Nixed from Terri Autopsy

Dr. Cyril H. Wecht, the well-known forensic pathologist and coroner of Allegheny County, Pa., told listeners of a morning radio show that he was denied permission to observe Terri Schiavo's autopsy, despite the wishes of her parents.

A medical examiner in Pinellas County, Florida, is conducting an autopsy that could help determine what Schiavo's state of consciousness was and whether she was abused by her husband, as the Schindlers allege. Wecht, appearing on the syndicated America's Morning Show with Quinn and Rose, based in Pittsburgh, said that an investigator working for the Schindler's law firm had called him on Thursday to see whether he would be agreeable to observing the autopsy.

Dr. Wecht told Quinn and Rose he was certainly be agreeable to that, but that several hours later he received word that the medical examiner had declined to give him permission.

Dr. Wecht told the morning hosts that he considered this a mistake, according to Rose Somma Tennent. "He said that, if this were in [his] office, [he] would have said sure - not just because of professional courtesy, but because of the controversy sourrounding this case," Somma Tennet said.

Calls made during the show to the medical examiner's office were not returned.

The results from the autopsy are expected in a few weeks.

All they wanted was an observer. That was a reasonable request.

And Schiavo will want his as well, to make sure that there is no funny business on the part of his in-laws. The local medical examiner is a neutral third party. I'll let them report findings.

I'm sure the autopsy will be in hands of a perfectly capable, honorable Scientologist.

Let's pray that a fair and complete autopsy will be performed. Surely, there's at least ONE DECENT PERSON LEFT IN FLORIDA!!!!

Michael works for the county & the ME works for the county & the judge was a county probate judge. The autopsy should be done by someone who has no connections whatsoever with the county. The whole situation down there is positively incestuous.

Not the PA Examiner I'm asking if the Pinellas ME is tied in to Felos etc. He is the one doing the autopsy right & Wecht wants to observe but the Pinellas ME says NO. If thats the case then the Pinellas ME is on the same page as Michael-Felos etc

Is there any official in that county that isn't crooked?

Is there any official in Florida that isn't crooked?

I thought -- after hearing Wecht on Philly's bigtalker WPHT 1210 yesterday morning -- that he was advising the Schiavo's.

It seems to me that he would welcome this Dr. He is great. I've seen him on several shows especially during the Laci Peterson stuff. Their loss and Michaels gain I'm sure. Has anyone done a google on the ME there?

This autopsy is brought to you by the same cronyist, corrupt entity that has a judge like Greer on its bench. Is there any doubt the outcome now that most of any real evidence (Such as a PET scan) has been foreclosed by what, IMHO, was murder?

If the local examiner does it alone, it could lead to calls of corruption. Let the other ME in and eliminate that possibility.

No, you'll have the local ME, the Schindler's pathologist, and the Schiavo's pathologist because you know he's going to demand one of his own if the Schindler's get their's. And the circus will continue.

Read it again. They only wanted another forensic pathologist to OBSERVE the autopsy!

Governor Bush should have sent in the top Florida state medical examiner to oversee the autopsy. This will always look suspicious and again governor Bush will show a lack of courage.

It doesn't sound like they want another autopsy, only to Observe the single one.
