Judge George Greer ruled that the State of Florida has no right to take custody of Terri Schiavo, which ruling came hours after an appeal by Terri's parents to re-insert the feeding tube was refused by the U.S. Supreme Court.
Meanwhile, another hearing was scheduled tonight before US District Judge James D. Whittemore .. the same judge who previously heard and denied the request subsequent to the 'de novo' intention of the law past last weekend by the Congress and signed by President Bush, in an effort to confirm that no stone was left unturned before Terri would endure legally sanctioned dehydration until death.
"keep our eyes on the prize"
Too bad, though, that the vast (99%) majority of the people of this country have no idea what that "price" is, and that includes the posters in these threads.
As long as you are fearful (read: PC) to admit the truth, we'll continue slipping and sliding into Third Worldism.
I'd like to say good night and Happy Easter to all and leave you with the following words: The worth of a nation is the worth of its people. Demographics do have huge consequences.
I'm sorry, I guess I was reading your posts the wrong way--I am not a "biblical thinker" much---I am a Christian but I don't attend church---have had some bad experiences, so my faith is between me and God...
I know I should become more familiar with the Bible, though, I have only read it through once, but have read certain passages many, many times...
Sorry again, I didn't intend to preach to anyone, I just fear for the America that my two very young granddaughters will have to live in...
For years now, since 9/11, I have worried that they may some day have to wear burkas if we were to lose the "war on terror", but the bleakness that has been talked about tonight on this thread, I am not sure how to deal with it...I guess it frightens me too much...not for me, I am old, but for them, Kailey and Chase...
Sweet dreams to you, Lakey. I'm going to try to sleep now too. I have to do something to get rid of these swollen eyes before tomorrow and I'm HOPING our pastor doesn't say anything about Terri... If he does, I'll probably lose it all over again!
Bless you all and have a warm, loving, *family* Easter day.
HE IS RISEN! PRAISE GOD, HE IS RISEN!
Don't worry, I'm too stubborn to give up, but I'm pretty disgusted.
In fact, a little while ago I e-mailed the Bush brothers and told them that it is Easter, and do God's will and save Terri. I put my message about Easter and doing God's will to save Terri in the subject line, in case the rest of my e-mail isn't read.
Right after that I heard on the radio that Terri's parents said they were hoping for an EASTER miracle.
So if they don't give up, neither should we, and as Terri said: "Where there's life; there's hope."
If anyone wants to send an Easter message to the president and Governor Bush:

Oh I know so!!! My dear dad was a prayer warrior from the old school!! He loved, diciplined, cared, prayed........and studied the Word of God.I can still see him in my mind. After dinner he would take His Bible, Clarks Commentaries, and study notes, and spread them all over the dining room table. He loved to study God's Word.He was a Chaplain for the mens jail here in Los Angeles for years and was a Gideon for umpteen years too. OH how I miss him!!!!
He's going to need lots of ice where he's going! But he won't get any.
OH my.!!!! This is IT. This is JUST what I have been TRYING to put into words but couldn't!!!
BTW , you have freepmail!!
Amen!!!
"If this had happened before the election, I wonder what the outcome would have been?"
I thought of that too, Bonne....I'm tellin' ya...no matter what's happened here, no matter how much blame is or is not laid at the feet of the Governor...I'd STILL vote for GW all over again if it was between he and Kerry.
In a heartbeat.
When *I* lost it (which you may have noticed), is when Jeb was implying that the TerriFighters were having a problem, and he was in the clear, because there was nothing more he could do - since *he* was abiding by "the rule of law." Well, as Judge Roy Moore put it, the Constitution is the Law, and the duty of the judicial branch is to interpret the law, and the duty of the executive branch is to enforce the law. And Jeb wasn't enforcing anything. He was copping out, and de facto handing over his forces to Greer.
Now we see one county probate judge--and there are 6,000 counties--flipping off POTUS the most powerful man on earth.
The Bush Boys could have done such a one-two punch! I thought the situation had been Providentially set up that way, but they BLEW IT BIGTIME. It was SUCH a beautiful set-up and they just folded. What a disaster. And if I was GWB, I would have gone in to clean up my brother's mess. There was just too much at stake. But GWB did nothing. And I'm sure China was watching, if you catch my drift....
Reagan and Lincoln. *sigh* And "Bully" to your 5th grandfather! Those were men who knew how to win and keep freedom. Those were Patriots!
Those fellows didn't get their legal advice from "Queer Eye For The Straight Guy".
*grin*
"Good question.. I wonder if Terri would have had a better chance.."
With Kerry? No way. Nope nope nope.
The congress wouldn't have met, the President (EEEEEK...President Kerry!) would NOT have been awoken to sign that bill. Nope.
I thought of that too, Bonne....I'm tellin' ya...no matter what's happened here, no matter how much blame is or is not laid at the feet of the Governor...I'd STILL vote for GW all over again if it was between he and Kerry.
I haven't heard Kerry utter one word about Terri. Where does he stand? I haven't heard Hillary or Bill. Where are they?
I know. (((pollywog)))
Yes. History does repeat itself because people ARE TOO STUPID to learn from past mistakes!
I'm thinkin' we've been woke up from a mighty stupid slumber.
The question now is, are we man and woman enough to take the challenge handed to us and DO SOMETHING ABOUT IT???
And all God's people said......AMEN!!!!
Hi....I'm back. I've been reading through your posts and I started to cry. Please don't feel so hopeless! Hope is all we have left! This is not our home. We are foreigners here renting a temporary house for our souls. In our real home there will be no suffering.
Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God, believe also in me. In my Father's house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also.
I want you to stop what you are doing, turn up your volume, and click on this link:
