Judge George Greer ruled that the State of Florida has no right to take custody of Terri Schiavo, which ruling came hours after an appeal by Terri's parents to re-insert the feeding tube was refused by the U.S. Supreme Court.
Meanwhile, another hearing was scheduled tonight before US District Judge James D. Whittemore .. the same judge who previously heard and denied the request subsequent to the 'de novo' intention of the law past last weekend by the Congress and signed by President Bush, in an effort to confirm that no stone was left unturned before Terri would endure legally sanctioned dehydration until death.
And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors....
I need to vent. I have been so disappointed in both the Bush bros, especially Jeb. But everytime I have mentioned it I have been flamed and reprimanded. There are Kool-aid drinkers on both sides, not just the left. I too feel this picture is so much bigger than Terri. This is the first step into euthansia and so many of us do not realize the seriousness of it all. Knowing and seeing the total picture, not only the corruptness but the future as well, I did expect Jeb to step in. Do we have a right to be disappointed? I believe yes. I do know that man will always let us down, but God will not. I believe Gramma Brad's post saying something to the effect - get your spiritual lives in order because this is so much bigger,,, was in fact prophetic. God Bless Terri. May God forgive us. Thanks for letting me rant.
It's more than anger, and it's more than moral outrage. It's a knowledge that Terri was betrayed and abandoned, and so were we all. They yielded us up, and democracy also, to the judiciary.
So much for "we the people."
I know my lesson learned from all of this is that the Judicaial system is in control of the US in every area, family court, probate court, criminal court,etc.. They are the masters and now we know that is true seeing our own executive leaders bow to them! I will never forget this as long as I live. Many people will in the coming weeks, but I won't and I hope none of you will either! We must never forget Terri and keep it in the minds of people every day, including our leaders! We will not tolerate this any more!
You said it for me.
Amen
....and lead us not into temptation...
There should be a certain amount of happiness in a natural home going.. (or promoted to Glory as the Salvation Army says).. but when it is forced .. it's not so easy to understand..and it seems to hurt more..
I feel the same way about Terri as you do...I think most of us do...
We just had Rathergate....but, the media tells the truth. okay. What's wrong with these people? Could they smell the coffee if it was right under their nose?
I feel the same way.........I most certainly don't feel guilty when I feed my own children but I feel guilt at every morsel or drop that enters my own mouth.......
You nailed it, lakey, but most people still have "faith" in Betty Friedan, don't they? And I'm pretty sure there are no "homeroom mothers" any more, but there may be in some of the "better" suburban schools, if they exist.
I have those same sentiments.. Something is terribly wrong in our society to let this happen. It can't bode well for our future. I've had a profound sense of sadness mixed with an equally profound sense of anger..
Also those black congressmen like the mean-looking John Lewis would have had a different stance if Terri were black, you can bet your bottom dollar.
Can you imagine if Terri and her family were black? Trying to save her from a white husband, lawyer and judge?
This has nothing to do with her race....it is the fact that she is a Christian!
....but deliver us from evil, ......
OH my goodness honey.. I'm not the boss here..hehe.. I just play one on tv... I'm just another lamb in the Lord's care..
*grin*
Funeral directors should be screaming about this!!! Caskets are sealed! They will assure you that bugs are NOT going to get inside any of their caskets!!
For Thine is the Kingdom......
Amen
I am not nearly as eloquent as many of you here but I feel that this song is appropriate tonight.......
Eric Clapton's 'Tears in Heaven'
Would you know my name
If I saw you in heaven
Will it be the same
If I saw you in heaven
I must be strong, and carry on
Cause I know I don't belong
Here in heaven
Would you hold my hand
If I saw you in heaven
Would you help me stand
If I saw you in heaven
I'll find my way, through night and day
Cause I know I just can't stay
Here in heaven
Time can bring you down
Time can bend your knee
Time can break your heart
Have you begging please
Begging please
(instrumental)
Beyond the door
There's peace I'm sure.
And I know there'll be no more...
Tears in heaven
Would you know my name
If I saw you in heaven
Will it be the same
If I saw you in heaven
I must be strong, and carry on
Cause I know I don't belong
Here in heaven
Cause I know I don't belong
Here in heaven
This is so far-fetched that it may have actually happened. Or maybe MRS has a vivid imagination as well as an evil heart.
