TERRI SCHIAVO DAILY MARCH 2005 PART 6- NO FOOD OR WATER IN THE 6TH-7TH DAYS - GOOD FRIDAY
various | 3-24-05

Posted on 03/25/2005 12:17:45 AM PST by STARWISE

Judge George Greer ruled that the State of Florida has no right to take custody of Terri Schiavo, which ruling came hours after an appeal by Terri's parents to re-insert the feeding tube was refused by the U.S. Supreme Court.

Meanwhile, another hearing was scheduled tonight before US District Judge James D. Whittemore .. the same judge who previously heard and denied the request subsequent to the 'de novo' intention of the law past last weekend by the Congress and signed by President Bush, in an effort to confirm that no stone was left unturned before Terri would endure legally sanctioned dehydration until death.

"Invasion of privacy" protects the guilty, not the innocent. It's used all the time in kangaroo courts. Social workers use it to cover their incompetence, etc.

So group homes can now be added to hospices, as being killing fields.

Florida loves the $$$ when the seniors are ambulatory, but the ever aging population is becoming a drain on the economy, or so the able-bodied think. Couple the ill seniors with the handicapped, and you have a state ripe for offing the "useless eaters."

But now we're finding out about these goings on.

No, I don't know the song, Tx ... but I do know that you probably wouldn't get the chance to begin to break the law ... you would be arrested, or shot. One of the Vigilers reported that there were snipers at the ready on some of the adjoining rooftops.

This murder has been planned for years, financed with Terri's own money. Florida law was changed to accommodate this. Florida then tried to change it again, which only exposed a vast network of questionable people doing questionable things, but didn't give her relief. Judge Greer was asked to recuse himself five times, at last count. He refused each time. He made a determination and closed the file on anything additional, no matter what it was or how good it was. She was PVS and that was it. Under Florida Law, PVS, without hope of recovery, with clear and convincing evidence that she would not want to live with extraordinary measures, and she's put to death by the available means ... starvation and dehydration. How these determinations were made matters not. The "fact" that a bazillion Judges looked at this means nothing ... they looked only at what the original Judge had said ... she's PVS, etc. etc.

Was the Federal Government surprised that a Federal Court would not give her relief? You bet. But it certainly revealed the extent of judicial tyranny in this country. Don't discount the fact that the Clinton Administration spent time and treasure to put their ideas in place throughout the country, for times such as these. Florida was a problem in the first Bush election ... Florida is a continuing problem on many fronts, because the Clintons invested wisely and well. There's much to clean up, none of which, in my opinion, belongs on the doorstep of the Governor or the President. They are the ones willing to do something about this but, then, algore was to have breezed in and it would have been business as usual, under the radar.

There's a history here, and it's not pretty. It's reached the point where innocent people die because of it. It must be changed within the system by good and decent people. I earnest hope the Schindlers do not become Advocates because they already have given all they have. I think it's up to Terri's Angels (FloriduhVoter's name for supporters) to carry on.

End of rant ...

No court, not one, not ever, has ruled for the Schindler's or Terri's life. It all started with Greer deciding what the "facts" would be.

I WILL be contacting my state lawmakers about this. When a case is to be re-heard, it should NOT go before the same judge!

Yes. From one of pc93's posts:

Dr. Jay Wolfson is director of the Florida Health Information Center at the University of South Florida in Tampa.

He is also a lawyer.

The University of South Florida is intimately connected to Hospice and Hospice of the Florida Suncoast (the corporate owner of the hospice where Terri was being dehydrated and starved, and where she is once again interned).

The USF website gives information on continuing professional education to be held at the University of South Florida's Center for Hospice, Palliative Care and End-of-Life Studies.

The University of South Florida, Dr. Jay Wolfson's employer, has a partnership with, among other hospice organizations, the Hospice of the Florida Suncoast.

I am numb. America will never be the same. I can't believe that there is any question whether we should starve a person to death.

I hadn't read that yet, so thanks for posting it.

I do think that Jeb probably knew the forces against him and, just as we know the futility of trying to rescue her ourselves, he also realized the futility of it for himself.

I feel for the man. I truly do. All evidence shows that he fought hard for her life. And now people are throwing insults at him and blaming him. I can't imagine if hundreds of people were telling me that Terri's blood was on MY hands, after fighting so hard for her. And Jeb has done far more than I have.

The fact that Jeb's hands are tied tells us how corrupt the system has become, not how corrupt Jeb is.

Nor can I. Not only cannot I not understand those who defend this, I can't believe some people's complete indifference.
