Judge George Greer ruled that the State of Florida has no right to take custody of Terri Schiavo, which ruling came hours after an appeal by Terri's parents to re-insert the feeding tube was refused by the U.S. Supreme Court.
Meanwhile, another hearing was scheduled tonight before US District Judge James D. Whittemore .. the same judge who previously heard and denied the request subsequent to the 'de novo' intention of the law past last weekend by the Congress and signed by President Bush, in an effort to confirm that no stone was left unturned before Terri would endure legally sanctioned dehydration until death.

His Bar number could be on court papers/motions filed....on ones he signed. Some states require that. There are other ways of getting a lawyers bar number....I don't know the procedure for Florida, but I believe that would be public records information.
The worst part was.. he had told me over and over during the years (for real, not like Mikey) that he would rather be dead than in one of those places.. and I put him there.. and I could see in his eyes that he was in hell inside... I know God forgives me... I know he would forgive me.. I just don't know that I can forgive myself...
Yes, it is getting worse. It was supposed to be a nice day today, but the thunder and lightening rolled in right at the time the Greer Reaper rendered his long belated decision.
I've ventured out in the big FR playground this afternoon. A playground that I once thought was safe and friendly. I am sad to say, it's not a nice place and it is filled with Shiavo-types.

I for one vote for a press conference to lay his charges to rest. If I feel satisfied with his explanation up against the constituition then so beit. Until then , I am saying he should have acted before now!~!!!
Lord, I want to stand Vigil while our beloved Terri is struggling ... ease her pain and suffering during this hour with Your provision ... refresh her with our tears as we wait upon You ...
I think this will separate a lot of true Pro-Lifers on the one hand, from "PLINOs" (Pro-Life In Name Only- types), both Freepers and conservative public office-holders and their supporters.
Already, the Terry Schiavo story, as well as my question ("Would you risk Impeachment to do the right thing as an officeholder?") will be my own little "litmus test" I'll conduct early and often, from here on out, informally and formally, with Republicans everywhere I meet who seek office or hold office.
Comfort her family as their darkest hours approach ... part this darkness, O Lord, and redeem her from her agony ...
Terri defenders tried to bring Greer up on ethics charges in the summer of 2003, but nothing of course developed in Pinellas Co.

Awestruck, just the other day I was asking myself what I would do if someone I deeply loved needed round the clock nursing care, and I couldn't give it at home or couldn't afford it. I thrashed around that one for a long time and didn't come up with a satisfactory answer, but I think the key to remember is that we don't place our loved ones in nursing homes because we don't love them...but because we do. If we visit as often as humanly possible, make a commitment to the one we love (as it sounds like you did), then a nursing home is not the worst thing to do. It is only bad when people DUMP their folks in nursing homes, walk away, or neglect them. There is a huge difference, and love makes the difference. It sounds to me like you loved your daddy and took care of him. If the doctors were deceiptful, that is to THEIR everlasting shame, not yours...you trusted them.
Soothe her brow as would her mother ... hold her to your heart as would her father ...
