You know, I was thinking about colostomies earlier this week in relation to Terri's case... how it's similar. So, it's chilling that people think that way and have told you..

I'm appalled that these kids parents allowed them to do this. Arrest the parents.

The story is not so much about Terri -- as it is about the different responses to the facts, and what people regard as the facts, from their own experiences and understanding of life. The subject herself is almost the perfect Rohrschach ink blot. It's ultimately not about Terri -- but about everybody else.

I was thinking the same thing.

I remember once in Korea one of our guys was told by an officer NOT to give some of his rations to this little kid standing close by, who looked like he had not eaten in days.... the officer did not want a bunch of kids around for some unknown reason... he was a ________ anyway.

How is having a colostomy in any way similar to Terri's case.

People with a colostomy can presumably think and reason and hear and talk. They have cognitive abilities. Their mind is not affected at all.

Their bodies are functioning and moving and walking and working and exercising.

Terri cannot do any of those things.

So the Nurses...professionals who are trained to notice these things...the ones who say they've seen her swallow liquids and soft food without aspirtion are lying?

You're right shouldn't let the facts ruin a good publicity stunt. Only you're blaming the wrong side for the publicity stunt.
