**Exclusive Fri Mar 18 2005 00:50:07 ET** The Chairman of the Health, Education, Labor, and Pension (HELP) Committee, Mike Enzi (R-Wyoming) has requested Terri Schiavo to testify before his congressional committee, the DRUDGE REPORT has learned. In so doing it triggers legal or statutory protections for the witness, among those protections is that nothing can be done to cause harm or death to this individual.
So now are Freepers going to take back their sarcastic comments about Sen Frist when it has turned out she NEVER had an MRI?
Not holding my breath!
Judge Greer.
" Why the brain stimulator implant if she is brain dead???"
It was put in early 1991. It appears the experiment failed.
I agree with you. I'm just trying to have a debate. I have clearly stated my position. However, when I see things being said that just are not true, I'm going to counter them. I think I've beeen respectful, even when I've been called names. I understand this is an emotional issue, but having another point of view does not make you a death mongerer, it just means you have a different definition of compassion.
Still, Deejay, you got your info from the media. Just like the rest of us.
Well it seems that Judge Greer is the most activist of activist judges---he just told the US congress to stick it and is gonna pull the feeding tube!!!
Your definition of compassion is letting a woman starve to death? You sure have a strange dictionary.
This is SO confusing. It was probably Greer.
So in essence, Congress has NO authority here and the protection of subpoenad persons is crap?
Someone please explain, I don't get it.
Yes, it was Greer. And he is saying that Congress has no authority in this case.
Darn! What is his agenda?
I agree.
I imagine if one did an internet search, on "Persistent Vegitative State," one "might" found out exactly what the prognosis is. But....that's just me. hehehehe......
Sad moment for Terri, and the entire country.
Disabled people everywhere need to be concerned. If there is some kind of material gain to be had as a result of their deaths, or if they've become inconvenient, it's now legal to "let" them die. (Would this defense work for Nichols, I wonder? "No, I didn't kill those four people--I just "let them die.")
I thought you said you hoped Terri is saved? Are you now claiming that she is indeed a vegetable and should not live?
I just don't get how they can torture her to death. If this is his ruling then death should be by injection, which is the same considertion given to a murderer on death row!
1)What has confused you?
Answer - your inconsistency
2)Aren't you all in favor of judges now legislating from the bench?
Answer: No
3)Isn't that this is all about, disagreeing with court rulings and trying to find somebody who agrees with you?
Answer: No - the concern for Terri's constitutional rights is due process, which is not confined.
4)Well, you must not be talking about this case, because there is a marriage here. Legal and all.
Answer: So any husband can imprison any one of his two wives in a basement and withhold all the necessities of life and society be damned?
Not all the time, does she do this. And she rarely does these as well.
What on earth is happening...one agendised judge can kill a human being?
We need to maintain the pressure...
The arrogant Judge Greer needs removed from the bench after telling Congress to stuff it! They need to get federal officials into that Hospice Center and remove her out of the State under protective order of a Congressional subpoena IMHO!
I cannot believe this has gotten this far and this judge has ordered the removal of the feeding tube!
I wish the law in Florida allowed another way. But it doesn't.
