After twice hearing the two versions of the bill, the one in the Senate is toothless. The house bill and the one Delay is pushing is the only way, we are going to save Terri. The Senate bill will be ignored. They are already calling it illegal and no one is going to enforce it. We need one that speaks loud and clear and cannot be ignored.

If we are dependent on Congress to save Terry Schiavo we are in deep trouble and need to pray harder. Good St. Joseph help us. President Bush doesn't have to worry about re-election. Why doesn't he just sign an executive order protecting Terry civil rights and placing the matter in the federal courts, given that the supoenas were ignored. Everything seems so backa@@wards! The courts want to give extra rights to gays but can't see that Terri's are protected.

We've had it for a while; but when they try to force euthanasia of the disabled against our will, we must respond. (Personally, I think we should have responded long ago; but I think many Americans are finally awaking to how far the judiciary will go.)

I've been racking my brain and am throwing this out there for brainstorming: Can anyone think of a peaceful, powerful way we the American people who support Terri can make a statement to the judiciary that we no longer recognize and abide by their authority if they persist in this evil?

The Senate strikes again. Republicans own the Senate, the House and the Presidency. This should be a cake walk, saving Terri! I don't get it.

That is the heart-wrenching part. A woman is suffering moment by moment while this spiritual and political struggle rages around her.

Here is my very Catholic (If you don't like prayers to the saints, stop reading warning) prayer for Terri this morning:

Good St. Joseph,
Guardian of our Lady and the child Jesus,
Patron of women, children, and husbands,
Patron of the whole church,
you who are there for us calmly,
in times of trouble,
patron saint of a holy death,
on today your feast day,
we ask you to especially watch down on our most vunderable sister,
Terri Schaivo,
intercede for her with your son Jesus,
comfort her as the pangs of hunger and thirst grow stronger,
pray for strength for those who are working so hard to save her,
pray for healing and softening in those hearts trying to kill her,
pray that all who watch her vigil
will learn the realities of the evilness of human-caused suffering,
and how life is a gift from God in heaven.

St. Joseph,
quietly you worked to protect and raise Jesus as a child,
quietly, you work tirelessly in heaven
as you watch over your son's church,
never was it known that any who turned to you were left unaided.

Pray for us, good St. Joseph,
now, and at the hour of our death, Amen.

Both the House and Senate have now passed bills that would give the Schindlers the opportunity to have their claims that their daughter's starvation violates her federal constitutional and statutory rights heard in a federal court. This little tidbit from the petition should interest the legal beagles if they truly think Greer is just enforcing Florida law:

"32. Judge Greer relied on Dr. Ronald Cranford’s definition of PVS (Persistent Vegetative State) instead of the legal definition contained in the Florida Statutes. There were several doctors who gave reports that Terri is not PVS but Greer decided not to use the Florida Statute’s definition."

HMM. I am having second thoughts. I don't want any freepers or friends of Terri hurt and I thought she would be in less danger. My other thought was that surely 1 out of 5 would stand up for Terri if something happened. If she tried to talk and all held their peace....Praying for Terri and our country.

Plus Dr. Cranford was paid to make his diagnosis and he lied in court. The day before on video he praised Terri for following his commands, etc. then in court he said she is PVS. He lied to the court and that is a crime. It is also a federal crime because he crossed state lines and was paid.

Please let everyone know that Terri said "yeaahh" twice that she wanted to live and then her parents/sibs/lawyer were kicked out of the room and the Pinellas Park police said she said "noooo". Tell the Prez and my Governor that Terri's death will be on their hands if she dies. Jeb sent out another e-mail yesterday saying that he would do everything within the law but he is sitting on his hands. Some governor! and he wants to run for President one day. I talked to a DCF investigator who called me yesterday and I was at the Hospice Woodside and this investigator was from Pinellas County. She was not helping in taking my information nor did she appear competant in her duties as an investigator. She was apathetic and said something about some grand conspiracy, etc. and I never said anything about that. I'm sick to death of all these apathetic and public officials who are letting this happen. Please contact everyone you can including our leaders, etc. Tell them Terri said she wants to live.. she just needs rehab and therapy to have her own voice back to be able to speak more clearly. Jeb Bush might as well been the person who surgically removed her feeding tube yesterday as he is the Head of the State. Please ACT!!! Terri may not last 6 days like last time!

Thanks for posting the bills. Delay was on Fox this morning, they are talking about getting the bill passed and signed Monday.

But I'm wondering what happens if they ignore the bill in Florida. I would never have believed they could ignore a Congressional subpoena and get away with it.

As another poster said the US Attorney works for Gonzales, why couldn't he get the attorney to follow the law. I don't know why they needed to send it to the US Supreme Court to deny it again. Do we now have to go through the US Supreme Court when someone decides to ignore the law of the land.
A subpoena is supposedly the law of the land.

Do US attorneys get to enforce only those subpoenas they like?

President Bush needs to call Congress into session this weekend and get the bill passed now. This waiting until Monday talk scares me--especially when they have known for years this was coming.

All eyes are on the two Bush brothers. They need to act now.

I hadn't heard that the police had claimed she said "no".
Whether she said "yes" or "no" would prove consciousness. So now the police in their own perverse way are proving that Terri is not PVS.
