Thanks for the ping. There was a thread o few weeks ago on which a new Texan/FReeper posted a number of photos of Texas. I've been searching for it without luck. Do you remember the title of the thread?

Thought this was rather appropo with the Texas Independence Day theme.

City Councilman from Midland, TX, ejected from
studio:

T. (Bubba) Bechtol, a part time City Councilman
from Midland, TX, was asked on a local live radio talk show the other day just what he thought of the
allegations of torture of the Iraqi prisoners. His
reply prompted his ejection from the studio, but to thunderous applause from the audience.

"If hooking up an Iraqi prisoner's scrotum to a
car's battery cables
will save one American's life, then I have just two
things to say,
Red is positive, Black is negative."

Hey, thats my bumper sticker. IMHO, It says a Hell of lot more than, "Don't litter Texas roads." (and I live in Tennessee)

You showed the oil, here's the cotton. Now we need a picture of the cattle.

Cotton field between Slaton and Post in west Texas.

Right! The North would have been a liability to the South and a downright pain in the *ss.
