I like the Texas declaration and it sheds light on the attitudes of people about constitutional issues. I like this grievance listed since it shows how people back then perceived this issue,

"It has demanded us to deliver up our arms, which are essential to our defense, the rightful property of freemen, and formidable only to tyrannical governments."

There is no arguing over what they meant by gun control advocates in this one. We are a greater nation with Texas and it's spirit. God bless Texas.

"It was never a Civil War to begin with. The Southern states never wanted to be in control of the nation. They formed their own. Hence, NOT a civil war. It was a Northern invasion of a sovereign Southern nation. HIstory books fail to teach this."

Some have named it the War of Northern Aggression and others the War of the Rebellion.

My Daddy said during WWII, the song, "Deep in the Heart of Texas" would get played sometimes and the ones from Texas would stand at attention. He said he would stand with them although he was from Florida.

He said if they thought that much of their state, he would honor it too.

If you want to have fun, call up the National Park Service and ask them what the claim to fame is for the Washington Monument. They will say that it is the tallest obelisk.

Bull Sh**! The San Jacinto Monument is 56' taller.
