Almost 50 percent of Americans, according to recent polls, and millions of people elsewhere in the world believe that UFOs are real. For many it is a deeply held belief.
For decades there have been sightings of UFOs by millions and millions of people. It is a mystery that only science can solve, and yet the phenomenon remains largely unexamined. Most of the reporting on this subject by the mainstream media holds those who claim to have seen UFOs up to ridicule.
On Feb. 24, "Peter Jennings Reporting: UFOs Seeing Is Believing" takes a fresh look at the UFO phenomenon. "As a journalist," says Jennings, "I began this project with a healthy dose of skepticism and as open a mind as possible. After almost 150 interviews with scientists, investigators and with many of those who claim to have witnessed unidentified flying objects, there are important questions that have not been completely answered and a great deal not fully explained."
"Peter Jennings Reporting: UFOs Seeing Is Believing" airs Thursday, Feb. 24 from 8-10 p.m. ET on ABC. The program will be broadcast in High Definition.
This two-hour primetime special reports on the entire scope of the UFO experience from the first famous sighting by Kenneth Arnold in 1947 to the present day. The program draws on interviews with police officers, pilots, military personnel, scientists and ordinary citizens who give extraordinary accounts of encounters with the unexplained. Also included are the voices of professional skeptics about UFOs, including scientists who are leading the search for life forms beyond Earth elsewhere in the universe.
The program explores the facts behind the enduring mystery of the incident at Roswell, N.M., and looks into the strange stories of alien abductions. Among the UFO cases presented:
Minot Air Force Base, N.D., October 1968 Sixteen airmen on the ground and the crew of an airborne B-52 witness a massive unidentified object hovering near the base.
Phoenix, March 1997 Hundreds witness a huge triangular craft moving slowly over the city.
St. Clair County, Ill., January 2000 Police officers in five adjoining towns all independently report witnessing a giant craft with multiple bright lights moving silently across the sky at a very low altitude.
Today if you report a UFO to the U.S. government you will be informed that the Air Force conducted a 22-year investigation that ended in 1969 and concluded that UFOs are not a threat to national security and are of no scientific interest. But as one of the world's leading theoretical physicists says in the program, "You simply cannot dismiss the possibility that some of these UFO sightings are actually sightings from some object created by a civilization perhaps millions of years ahead of us in technology."
"Peter Jennings Reporting: UFOs Seeing Is Believing" is produced by PJ Productions and Springs Media for ABC News. Mark Obenhaus and Tom Yellin are the executive producers.
Sadly I must admit I may have "passed" a liberal earlier today. If you run into a liberal with chewing gum in his forehead blame it on me:-(
Hmmmmmmmmmmmm...................
I've heard that from people that have visited San Fransisco.
Just sit back and enjoy the show. We are probably NOT in trouble. The Pleaidians have our back.
Actually, their mental health--at least of the well vetted professional types in occupations such as policemen, military men, civilian pilots, air traffic controllers, etc. as well as some other classes of observers/experiencers have mental health above average, if anything.
Sure there are flakes in the field. there are flakes in any field.
Sure in the NEW AGE branch of the topic, there are LOTS of flakes.
Everything you say just scares me. I suppose we all like to be scared.
You probably have a point, since I think they use a paralyzing agent as well as something to render you unconscious / insensitive... one can imagine getting the mix wrong with horrifying results!
Another tangent is the McMartin Preschool mass-hysteria and false / implanted memories in general, with which I became familiar through Dr. Richard Ofshe's work on false confessions to police interrogators. It would be interesting to see how abductees' stories are subtly "shaped" by their sympathetic questioners.
I don't believe that you come remotely close to having first hand evidence that such is
DEFINITELY sleep paralysis.
I can believe that you BELIEVE IT ON FAITH from your biases etc. But that's different, isn't it!
Could you be more specific?
Certainly the puppet masters do NOT want to be 'outted' in any broad, proven way BEFORE they have absolute control over absolutely all or near all the world's citizens.
They have the SLAG/chip implant--as The Bible says, without which it will NOT BE POSSIBLE TO BUY OR SELL--that is already in operation--'volunteer' of course--Mexico's ruling elite have them implanted already . . . Gates, the Windsors . . .
"This is what Peter Jennings career has come to.
How pathetic.
But then again, I'm more optimistic about seeing a UFO then I am ever getting a social security check"
The Art Bell of the alphabet nets lol. If one answers the fundamental question of why the vast majority of ufo's are seen at night, the subject becomes moot
Some on this thread seem to be sounding like experts on sleep paralysis and hallucinations. I doubt seriously most have even half my credentials on those topics.
I find the statements on those issues on this thread so far to be shallow, cheap shots very short of a full treatment of the full topic from anything remotely close to objective.
BTW--re the program. I like Friedman's interview with Marcell. How can anyone refute that?
Their running lights make them easier to spot?
There are a few things in Revelation that have only one answer: John, the author, had visions of the future.
I'm not gonna detail it, but I am 100% convinced some of the Revelations will happen.
I don't believe that you come remotely close to having first hand evidence that such isDEFINITELY sleep paralysis.
You are quite correct, nor would I want to be interpreted as saying otherwise. However, when faced with competing explanations of a strange phenomenon, I rely on Ockham's Razor. Sleep paralysis is real, its effects and attendant circumstances are quite similar to the effects and attendant circumstances described by self-reporting 'abductees', and, most importantly, it obviates the need to postulate the existence and presence on Earth of intelligent beings from another star system.
Weighed in the balance, sleep paralysis is a far, far likelier explanation of the abduction phenomenon (which is not to say there's not more to learn about it).
Both the ET's with or without the ET's cooperation
WITH the related technologies
WILL BE USED to scare
AND FORCE
the world's citizenry into the global government rigid control straighjacket.
One faction of the puppet masters seems to have the goal that when that day comes--lawbreaking of a certain slightly above misdemeaner nature will entail INSTANT EXECUTION by the closest policeman. Truly unwitting commission of something maybe as minor as a first time parking ticket will merely get internment in a death/work camp. 2nd or 3rd such will result in immediate execution.
Those who eat but don't contribute will be executed.
And/or used for experiments and/or food.
Reportedly.
Of course, such puppet masters have delluded themselves into disbelieving in God. God has other plans.
