Almost 50 percent of Americans, according to recent polls, and millions of people elsewhere in the world believe that UFOs are real. For many it is a deeply held belief.
For decades there have been sightings of UFOs by millions and millions of people. It is a mystery that only science can solve, and yet the phenomenon remains largely unexamined. Most of the reporting on this subject by the mainstream media holds those who claim to have seen UFOs up to ridicule.
On Feb. 24, "Peter Jennings Reporting: UFOs Seeing Is Believing" takes a fresh look at the UFO phenomenon. "As a journalist," says Jennings, "I began this project with a healthy dose of skepticism and as open a mind as possible. After almost 150 interviews with scientists, investigators and with many of those who claim to have witnessed unidentified flying objects, there are important questions that have not been completely answered and a great deal not fully explained."
"Peter Jennings Reporting: UFOs Seeing Is Believing" airs Thursday, Feb. 24 from 8-10 p.m. ET on ABC. The program will be broadcast in High Definition.
This two-hour primetime special reports on the entire scope of the UFO experience from the first famous sighting by Kenneth Arnold in 1947 to the present day. The program draws on interviews with police officers, pilots, military personnel, scientists and ordinary citizens who give extraordinary accounts of encounters with the unexplained. Also included are the voices of professional skeptics about UFOs, including scientists who are leading the search for life forms beyond Earth elsewhere in the universe.
The program explores the facts behind the enduring mystery of the incident at Roswell, N.M., and looks into the strange stories of alien abductions. Among the UFO cases presented:
Minot Air Force Base, N.D., October 1968 Sixteen airmen on the ground and the crew of an airborne B-52 witness a massive unidentified object hovering near the base.
Phoenix, March 1997 Hundreds witness a huge triangular craft moving slowly over the city.
St. Clair County, Ill., January 2000 Police officers in five adjoining towns all independently report witnessing a giant craft with multiple bright lights moving silently across the sky at a very low altitude.
Today if you report a UFO to the U.S. government you will be informed that the Air Force conducted a 22-year investigation that ended in 1969 and concluded that UFOs are not a threat to national security and are of no scientific interest. But as one of the world's leading theoretical physicists says in the program, "You simply cannot dismiss the possibility that some of these UFO sightings are actually sightings from some object created by a civilization perhaps millions of years ahead of us in technology."
"Peter Jennings Reporting: UFOs Seeing Is Believing" is produced by PJ Productions and Springs Media for ABC News. Mark Obenhaus and Tom Yellin are the executive producers.
There is absolutely nothing new in this show. It is simply a composite of what was on other shows. It was a waste ...shouldn't have been broadcast.
Definitely sleep paralysis-type phenomena. I don't talk in my sleep, but I've awakened in total fear several times (not a pleasant experience).
The visual here of your explanation is one of a 'chinese puzzle'. . .box-in-box; rational; fits neatly. . .box filled. . .with box filled with box; but while each box is filled with the other; the boxes remain empty. . .
OTOH. . .I do not doubt your explanations as describing some phenomena; (ie in the book; 'Revelation: the Divine Fire' ). Personally prefer to leave room for some empty considerations of what else might be. . .
Some call them the Bildebergers--of whom Jennings has been an attendee at their meetings . . . there are other names etc.
Way back when I first learned of such things--1965-1969--many of the names on the National Geographic Board of Directors were also directors on various UN organizations and other international organizations.
These organizations had IN THEIR OWN HOUSE ORGAN PUBLICATIONS PLAINLY STATED GOALS OF CREATING A GLOBAL GOVERNMENT; SURRENDERING USA AND OTHER NATIONALITIES, SOVEREIGNITY ETC. TO THE GLOBAL GOVERNMENT; ALTERING FAMILY NORMS; SOCIAL NORMS; EDUCATIONAL NORMS ETC.
Those are just FACTS. The goals I read about in their house organs in 1965 have been 70-80% ACHIEVED, already.
And the speed of accomplishment is speeding up.
A charade in that it is meaningless or a charade intended to divert attention?
Now explaining wormholes.
sleep paralysis and hypnogogic hallucinations go together. Some things make them worse. A sleep disorder!
Pilot story on now--200 feet diameter hundreds of feet long.
About 4 months ago, there was a quick blurb on the "Early Today" show.
They said that someone had discovered artifacts in Antarctica that would push back the discovery date at least two hundred years.
That was it. Never heard anymore about it. I emailed NBC and got no response at all. I logged onto some boards that are frequented by the folks who go live at McMurdo, never heard anything more ever.
Either it was just a mistake, or somebodies gotta get busy rewriting history.
LOL. Actually, it could make life a lot easier.
Given the givens,
a 100% hoax would be a more impossible phenomena than UFO's.
"I had it once."
I have also experienced sleep paralysis; not waking up but when going to sleep. That day and night I spent a great deal of time cleaning my apartment for people who would be visiting in a couple of days. I was exhausted but had stayed up much later than usual bed time doing more work. When I finally went to bed, my mind was still working but my body must have started falling asleep, as usual. I felt a paralysis and seemed to feel a weight pressing down on my body. Even knowing what was going on, it was a disquieting experience.
Check your mail.
Most physicists believe that to produce even a microscopic, evanescent wormhole, you'd have to get your hands on a special kind of matter (negative pressure matter). Needless to say, we don't have any, we don't know anybody who has any, and we don't even know whether it exists or can be produced.
Hmmmmm. interesting.
IF
that's the net bottom line--what's our conjecture about why???
Why would they do that.
I'd guess that they are spooked that the ET's themselves are going to reveal things sooner than they'd prefer and that they want to innoculate the populace against it somehow for as long as they can get away with it.
Hynek didn't deserve the treatment he got then nor on this show.
'elected' <------- Why is that in quotes?
I agree.
You can listen to him live at http://www.ktkz.com/default.asp between 3 and 6 pm PST.
Cheers,

Sorry for that. Probably be available on DVD later.
