Hey!
I resemble that remark!

And furthermore...

Intellectually honest? How about before his last book came out, he was talking about how there was going to be some sort of bombshell in there about Kerry, and that Kerry's unswift boat was going to the bottom because of his silly little book?

What ever happened to that one? After the book came out, he never mentioned it again.

I don't dismiss him--he plays his role and appeals to some people who just don't "get" Rush. Unfortunately, I think he will do more harm than good in the long run.

He is a total intellectual lightweight. Can't win a single argument with a liberal on any topic. He ends up getting nasty, petty, and personal, which only makes conservatives look bad. What worries me is that he is the heir apparent to Rush. If and when we lose Rush, I'd hate to be left with Sean as our radio standard-bearer.

I've been here six years, and we were much more fringe during the Clinton years. FreeRepublic is pretty well administered these days to eliminate the over the top elements. Most these days are mainstream Republicans. It used to be more Libertarian elements, more radical religious elements, and even some anarchy elements. There is not as much of that these days.

I think the reason for that is we have PResident Bush although having a Republican Congress helps. I seem to remember in the 1970's, somewhat during the 1980's (with a Democratic Congress, despite Ronald Reagan and having the Senate for a little while) and the Clinton 1990's, we were on the fringe more or less, imagine a Republican Congress, yeah, when pigs fly! Well, we achieved that in 1994 although we still had Clinton for 6 more years so we were still somewhat considered on the fringe. This was the time for whar I call "Patriot Radio."

I remember in the 1980's and 1990's listening to small AM stations and shortwave stations, the only other venue was Rush, to where that was the only venue to get some of the truth out there as well as discuss things like Waco and Ruby Ridge and the allegations against President Clinton. You also had the "Black Helicopter Crowd" too, maybe there are kernels of truth in what they say but some claims they made, well they have the burden of proof. I think with the election of 2000 with President Bush, Patriot Radio took a huge hit and we also see a surge with Sean Hannity, Mike Savage and so on although Chuck Harder took a hit. Had we had a Gore Victory in 2000 or a Kerry Victory in 2004, we would have most likely seen Patriot Radio continue or come back depending on the scenario. God forbid if we get a Dean like Democrat in 2008, I expect Patriot Radio to make a comeback and the shortwave bands will be humming again. I used to listen to a group of ham radio operators on the Liberty Net (3950 Kc, LSB (Lower Side Band)) every Saturday night having discussions as well, but it petered out in the last few years.

I still like Sean Hannity but his comments about Free Republic took some wind out of my sails on him.

Well, I remember he said once that we "eat our own", and sometimes I agree with that. I've seen a lot of flaming rather than talking it out, etc.

You're right. The worst thing some have done, is going from a lurker to a poster. Some of us should have never posted.....

"A better question is when will you realize you are being played for sport like a little fish on light tackle."

By whom? Just because I disagree with you on many issues, you say I am unable to think for myself? That truly is a leftist's reasoning.

I don't have thin skin and couldn't care less about his critism. I do want to know why someone so boring and uninformative has the number two radio program in the US?

Did anyone listen to the guest hosts on Rush last week? Why isn't one of these guys number two? What does it take?

Please tell me why millions of people listen to this clown?

Our stations don't even play him live (8 pm cst). Even Chicago has him on delay.

Yea. I remember when the Scott Peterson verdict came out. Hannity was playing it all up. But us in the Chicago area already knew that they found him guilty. Anyway, Hannity Is just not entertaining anymore. I probably get bashed by my fellow fringers, but I think Ann Coulter is pretty, but also pretty rude.

If anything, FR has more energy than ever, but is a little less tolerant of trolls and more impatient with simpletons.
