STATE OF THE UNION -- 2005 [Live Thread]
2/2/05

Posted on 02/02/2005 3:43:44 PM PST by Timeout

The pre-spin: Bush will spend about 1/2 the speech on foreign policy, 1/2 on domestic, with heavy emphasis on Social Security reform. It's said he will provide a detailed tutorial on the SS system and its problems with a few details on his personal accounts proposal.

Laura's guests are said to be an Afghan voter and an Iraqi voter (too bad there's no Ukrainian wearing an orange hat!).

Should we start a drinking game on how many times the pool camera swings to Hillary? Hmmm. Probably not...it would likely hamper out typing ability.

Word on the blogs has it that the closing part of the speech is a hum-dinger. Set your VCR's.

Report here on outrageous MediaCrat spin before AND after the SOTU. Pictures and screen caps welcome.

All they are doing right now is putting the final nails in the coffin of the RAT party.

Nah; they're in that coffin and it's been sealed shut. What the presstitutes are doing is sucking the last bit of oxygen from within that coffin and replacing it with carbon dioxide, among other noxious and poisonous gases.

He doesn't have any class. He didn't even have a career until his wonderful father died.

Ron Reagan just said he was "uncomfortable" (read-hated) with Bush "using" the people in the gallery that lost their loved ones just to score good points for the speech and his SS plans!!!

Even Chrissy had to admit that they signified the loss and hope of both countries in the War in Iraq---Chrissy actually "got it", but Ron Reagan just wouldn't let up on his constant hate of Bush---

There's a couple of TV ads here that just grate my nerves. One is for some car title loan place talking about "free" money, and the other is a lawyer who actually says "let me hep you git your check".
Ahh yes the Dem plantation...free money, no effort..it all automagically happens.

time to hit the sack...see you all around freepertown

Oops...looks like McAwful and his minions have already gotten to the polls to skew them. Probably sent out e-mails to their mailing list to get on all the polls after the SOTU and give Bush a negative rating (same thing they did after the debates). They're probably set up to delete cookies, etc.

During the Dems' rebuttal, I watched the end of "Miracle."

It's appropriate that this was on tonight too. Another moment to be proud to be an American.

Ron Reagan, after having already said that the Iragi woman was used as political tool by Mr. Bush, NOW says that there was another woman who was there tonight who wasn't introduced. She was the widow of Christopher Reeve, and she was there to highlight the stem cell research issue.

Ron has become a one-note johnny.

Why does Chris Matthews want the headlines tomorrow to be "Social Security Headed for Bankruptcy"? He has said it 10 times tonight and still no one will agree with him.

Statement by John Kerry on State of the Union Address

Wednesday, February 2, 2005

“President Bush said tonight that the state of our union is strong and confident, but millions of Americans know it can and must be stronger. The best way we can instill real confidence in their future is if we follow the true mandate of the last election -- a mandate for unity and true bipartisanship. The political campaigns are over and now we must get down to work. For the 11 million children in this country without health care, we must make our union stronger. For our brave soldiers in Iraq and their families, we must act now in the wake of the Iraqi elections to give them reasons to be as confident about their future as they are courageous under fire.

"My perception is that Chrissy is kinda swinging to the right lately."

Naaaa....you just haven't watched enough of him, he does that from time to time so as to keep an audience. He's a flaming lib from the word "go."
