The pre-spin: Bush will spend about 1/2 the speech on foreign policy, 1/2 on domestic, with heavy emphasis on Social Security reform. It's said he will provide a detailed tutorial on the SS system and its problems with a few details on his personal accounts proposal.
Laura's guests are said to be an Afghan voter and an Iraqi voter (too bad there's no Ukrainian wearing an orange hat!).
Should we start a drinking game on how many times the pool camera swings to Hillary? Hmmm. Probably not...it would likely hamper out typing ability.
Word on the blogs has it that the closing part of the speech is a hum-dinger. Set your VCR's.

I am with you, Chris. I don't know anyone who could keep the dream alive except Condi.
It just hit me during the speech. Everyone else out there is just so much small beer and mashed potatoes. Oh, perhaps Cheney gets it, but he's not up for 2008. Condi is the one who has shared the private grief with GW and Laura as casualty figures came in, and remained as convinced as they are that this cause is not only just, but noble in and of itself, and speaks of that nobility with a ringing conviction. Giuliani comes close, I will admit, but there's something missing there and I'm not sure what it is.
Condi is descended from slaves. Liberty has a real and abiding meaning to her. Her family went through things that most of the people on this board and in this country simply cannot fathom. She instinctively understands what this is all about and, I am convinced, has been the crucial actor in the development of Bush's post 9-11 Crusade for Liberty.
And the nation is supposed to vote for Hillary by acclamation because she's spent time on Armed Services?

What I have taken most our of her speech - she should give hillary her Plastic Surgeon's name. Let him/her practice some more on hillary. Polosi, Michael Jackson, and hillary - they could be the look-a-likes!!!

She obviously learned nothing from the 1980s. If one's enemies are intent on destroying you (and we have one that already has nukes that can reach us, another two that is working on the same, and two more that are approaching the status of wishing us dead), giving up the means to deter them is nothing less than suicide.

I wonder if the people of NV are embarrassed about the dismal performance of their popular Sen. Harry Reid in his Democrat "response" to the State of the Union. It was really pitiful. The GOP of NV should be ashamed for giving that rascal a free pass in 2004.
