No Kid Rock at Bush concert
Committee backs off plan to feature rapper after pro-family Americans express outrage

Kid Rock, the vulgar rock-rapper who initially had been lined up to headline the youth concert next week as part of the inauguration festivities for President Bush, will not be apppearing after all.

"He's not performing," a spokesman for the Presidential Inauguration Committee confirmed for WND.

No further information about the cancellation of Kid Rock was available at press time.

Word that the rapper will not join JoJo and Hilary Duff as performers at the Jan. 18 concert, which will be hosted by Bush twins Barbara and Jenna, comes after WorldNetDaily and other outlets publicized the fact that the committee was planning to feature Kid Rock, which caused several pro-family organizations to ask their supporters to protest his appearance.

Of course; "they" make all the rules, you know. "They" just can't get a candidate elected.

Now, who needs who? :-)

What is the moral values of the republican party?

What a load of crap im tired of a small part of the party pulling strings no wonder I continue to think about registering as a Independent. Each day Bush and Republican look more and more like a joke. I could careless if it offends a small part of the party (there the people who you have to beg to vote)

Wow. So you will be crying when you finally wake and realize that social conservatives/nanny wannabes are only part of the GOP and not the whole GOP, right?

The younger generation is apparently rebelling against their Baby Boomer parents.

I suspect the people here posting that Kid Rock is fine are liberals trying to skew Free Republic as a conservative bastion of true thinking.

I for one am just fine with rules being applied to private property.

I am also fine with "censorship" on public airwaves.

I have no problem with regulations on porn and booze.

I do have a problem with categorizing people and shoving them out the door.

Most Kid Rock songs would not be appropriate at this ball (maybe he should not have been invited?), but he was invited and should have been able to sing an appropriate song.

He has preformed in mixed company before with little controversy.

Send me a link showing that Senator Santorum, whom I support BTW, said that he wanted to monitor taxpaying American citizen's bedrooms for sexual activity.

That comment is just silly, newbie.

Someone can wholeheartedly support the Constitution, Bill of Rights, lower taxes, WOT, RKBA, smaller government, "life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness", etc. without subscribing to some tight a$$ed version of Christian fascism.

Unfortunately for him, his reputation precedes him. When you glorify the rap lifestyle, you have to live with the fact that reasonable people will get upset.

The posters here who support Kid Rock may "claim" to be one of us - but it's a lie, a deception.

BTW member since Nov 1, 2004 tossing out troll accusations - I've been here for FIVE years. SIX if you count the lurking time.

Well, I'm one of those quickly getting fed up with it. They don't run the show anymore than we do. I've said it before...the "Moral Majority" is getting too big for it's britches, imo.
