Kid Rock, the vulgar rock-rapper who initially had been lined up to headline the youth concert next week as part of the inauguration festivities for President Bush, will not be apppearing after all. "He's not performing," a spokesman for the Presidential Inauguration Committee confirmed for WND. No further information about the cancellation of Kid Rock was available at press time. Word that the rapper will not join JoJo and Hilary Duff as performers at the Jan. 18 concert, which will be hosted by Bush twins Barbara and Jenna, comes after WorldNetDaily and other outlets publicized the fact that the committee was planning to feature Kid Rock, which caused several pro-family organizations to ask their supporters to protest his appearance. No need to wait...here ya go...
we are already 'splintered' the bible thumpers think they own the party as their newest 'denomination'.
you know... the 'true conservatives' crowd?
So it's your position that the performance from a vulgar artist at the Presidential Inaugural is crucial in order that the GOP win future elections??
Lol, NOW I've heard it all.
P.S. -- "Social conservatives" IF NOT the "majority of the GOP," ARE indeed the backbone.
This Party DIES without us -- like it or not.
It may very well be. But I was speaking generally, not necessarily in reference to this debacle. As other posters have noted, this kind of thing has happened before. Whether or not this is a "real" story (and I'm not sure it is, either), it's bringing up some real concerns that I think are important.
I don't know about you, but I don't want to see the GOP ending up looking like a mirror-image of the Dems. They pandered to a few elements of their party, and they got hijacked.
If Kid Rock is good enough for them-then by God , Kid Rock is good enough for me.
Ok, go home and watch his anal porn and listen to him sing about the vulgar crap he sings about.
Garbage in garbage out.
I'm down wit dat. Someone tell the "Christian Taliban" that they don't have as much "power" as they think they have in politics. Just because the country is developing character that identifies right and wrong, doesn't put THEM in charge. Moral Values. Moral Values?
It's certainly beginning to look that way, and I don't like it one bit.
That would leave no one left at the event.
Bad analogy.
Dubya has repented of his ways of 20 years ago.
BTW, what is the correct plural for "ho"? Hoes? Hos? Ho's? Ho-Hos? Has William Safire touched on this?
Lots of people here at FR are OBSESSED with sex, in all shapes and forms. They're quick to condemn somebody like Kid, but drool all over other celebrities and watch crap like "Sex in the City," as if that's real.
Most of them don't have any life to speak of and spend all their times criticizing those who do; prigs and prudes.
As I said in a latter post.
Are we not defined by our actions?
Good and Bad?
Kid has shown he can behave in mixed company, let him sing.
FYI -- "Ragged Old Flag" was spoken word.
I could think of worse directions in which to go.
With that logic, that old drunk George W Bush shouldn't be wiping he dirty feet on the White House carpet..
