And to those of you who offer the beautiful homily, "It's better to give than receive", please take the time to have a nice tall glass of shaddup.

Wow, I've been wallowing in self pity all day. Losing my dear dad this year, I've been dreading Christmas. But at least I got to spend it with my children and other loved ones. As the old saying goes, "I used to complain because I had no shoes, until I met a man who had no feet". This thread has helped me to realize how much I have to be thankful for.
I wish I could wrap up a present and give it to all of those who didn't get one today.
Hopefully, my well wishes count for something. And my thanks for the wakeup call you just gave me.

I got to Walmart too late and didn't buy any. Plus I didn't get anything either. Oh well :-) I just sat home and donated to Worldvision and Bible League because Jesus is the reason for the season hehe!

I can vouch for that. Last summer we had a hugh thunderstorm come through and the power was out all night. The only light I had was the small candle I got as a white elephant gift from Christmas 2003 and the matches from the bar I was in during the storm. It was good thing I was drinking that night because I wouldn't have had anything to light the candle with!

ahhhhhhh the little things kids do, that man soooo much! I remember well. Mine is 6'4" now, 21 yrs. I got all sorts of things this year, he has great taste, and the gifts are things he puts a lot of thought into. I remember the years when he was small and all the things I did, so he would have something to give. I too was a single Mom.
Those memories last a lifetime! I have 100's of those!

I gave myself a camera - does that count? Warmed up a frozen pizza in the oven for Christmas dinner & had rocky road ice cream straight from the bucket for dessert.
Reminds me of the Christmas after my Dad died in Vietnam. It would have been hard enough, but my sister, Mom & I all came down with the flu and spent Christmas week so sick that we didn't open any presents until January. As I recall, Mom called out for pizza for Christmas dinner because no one felt up to cooking anything. In fact, we barely ate any of the pizza.

Since my grown children don't have much money but DO have lots of kids to buy for, I told them last month that all I wanted from them was a story wriiten down about a fun event from 20 years ago when we lived in Texas.
Only my 8-year-old grandson gave me a story of something more recent. It made me so happy. The 34-year-old wrote a letter telling me that we had good times, but nothing specific. The 35-year-old, 33-year-old, 30-year-old and 17-year-old gave nothing. I guess I am just too demanding.

The only thing I wanted for Christmas was a George Bush victory. This is the best Christmas I can remember having.

Seeing as the Concorde has been decommissioned I fail to see the value of this card. :)
