Wow, I've been wallowing in self pity all day. Losing my dear dad this year, I've been dreading Christmas. But at least I got to spend it with my children and other loved ones. As the old saying goes, "I used to complain because I had no shoes, until I met a man who had no feet". This thread has helped me to realize how much I have to be thankful for.
I wish I could wrap up a present and give it to all of those who didn't get one today.
Hopefully, my well wishes count for something. And my thanks for the wakeup call you just gave me.

I wish I could wrap up a present and give it to all of those who didn't get one today.I second that - I feel terrible that friends or family didn't remember some of you.
I make a bazillion cookies every year and I take them to people and groups that I think most people forget. We take large pans to retirement communities and to the firemen and policemen, as well.
I consider you all a gift for my heart. Thank you.

Those who possess no humor tend to be pious and judgemental.
I hope you can work through that, dear.

They count for everything. Sorry to hear you lost your Dad, I know how it feels. He is watching over you, take comfort in that.
We helped each other feel better when we lost ours, we told each other he was with "another carpenter now" (Daddy was a carpenter) We still miss him immensely!
