"Just Win, Baby": Sporting insights into the character of George W. Bush
O ctober 30, 2004 · In an effort to bridge the gap between those who regard President George W. Bush as a "liar" and those who regard him as a mere "exaggerator," I would like to suggest a term that perhaps we all can agree on: "cheater." By Dennis Hans

According to MSNBC, it is brand new polling data:

This would be 298-238 if I did the math right.

If Bush has Iowa, and has Florida (but not Ohio and New Hampshire) he wins if he takes any of:
1) Ohio
2) Pennsylvania
3) Wisconsin
4) Minnesota
5) Michigan
6) New Jersey
7) 2 out of 3 of NM, NH and HI

I'd say the lease likely of these would be 2) or 6). The most likely would be 1) or 3).

"Did you guys even read this? It says, "Mason-Dixon Polling & Research, Inc. of Washington, D.C. conducted these polls from October 15 through October 18, 2004."

I'm looking at it right now and it says this at the top of the page AND at the beginning of the article:

"The Mason-Dixon Minnesota Poll was conducted by Mason-Dixon Polling & Research, Inc. of Washington, D.C. from October 27 through October 29, 2004."

Maybe they just had a cut and paste typo from an earlier poll. But it's correct now.

Whats funny is that kerry is so focused on florida and ohio, he has left the backdoor open to michigan, pa, minnesota, and wisconsin. Florida, which bush will win, doesnt mean a damn thing if kerry drops michigan or pa. Too funny.

- Absolutely. I can't believe that a polling firm would trumpet results that are a week and a half out of date. I hope it's a misprint.

Winning Minnesota would be icing on the cake...

Funny how states evolve, sometimes in opposite directions. Minnesota used to be as Democratic as Rhode Island. Illinois leaned strong Republican. Go back far enough (the 1880's ) and Massachussetts was bedrock GOP.

these do not seem like old polls to me. These polls are from Oct. 26-29. I don't understand why MSNBC had the old polling dates on the bottom, but these are advertised as new, on RealClearpolitics.com

It is a misprint. MSNBC article says, Mason-Dixon surveys, which were conducted from Oct. 26 to Oct. 29.

Still, MSNBC sort of botched updating the text.

That's understandable. They were shell shocked.

I hope we will all be surprised with my state, Oregon. I heard on the news yesterday that Washington County (large part of Portland area) now has more registered Republicans than Democrats. The rest of the state is Bush Country!

and a most succint way of putting it. imagine being ont he other side right now? We have many combos that will win, he has very very few.

I live in the Flint area and cannot believe the Republican push compared to previous elections. Material comes in the mail almost every day. Today, a little old lady also came to the door and asked if I was going to vote for Bush. Amazing. Bush can really win Michigan.

I'm not sure of the figure, but I have heard that up to 25,000 volunteers are working 'on the ground' here.

The full time campaign workers are incredible, and we even have 40 some pros from D.C. to help us finish this off.

I tell you, it's AWESOME!

(btw, the Kerry campaign has had to pay to get workers. There's no comparison between the two campaigns......NONE).
