My local congressman, Elton Gallegly, has been fighting this for years. Sadly, most republicans only pay lip service to the problem, even Bush.

It would be nice for the US to stay the same size. But, realistically, does anyone who is concerned about future national security want the US to be a quarter of the size (population-wise) of China 50 years from now? The only way -- only way -- that the US can remain the strongest country in the world is to boost its number of people. Period. Do it legally as much as possible, but don't fret about rest.

I apologize for telling such a truth on Monday morning.

"Assuming these rates of increase do not rise – a tenuous assumption at best – our population will rise by an added 200 MILLION in less than 50 years. "

Ah, linear extrapolations are our friend! :P

There aren't enough Mexicans in Mexico for that to be true!

While YOU may be realizing higher profits/cost savings by doing so, the costs to the nation as a whole -- “free” healthcare in the local ER, food stamps, the plethora of US welfare benefits, etc., etc., etc ad nauseum – are being passed on to the REST of us in the form of higher property and other taxes

Then END all such programs - take away that incentive. I have no problem with those that want to enjoy our freedoms, I just don't want to support them to the detriment of my family.

A couple of corrections:

The estimated number of illegal aliens already here is closer to 31 million.

Per Bob Shieffer at the last Presidential debate, some 8,000 illegal aliens per week are crossing the border. That equates to more like 4.16 million new illegals per year.

But, we know they are only coming here to clean toilets at Holiday Inn. What 25 Chechnyans?????

On the bright side, Under Secretary of Homeland Security Department, Asa Hutchinson is shipping 300 per month back to Mexico. So, he's on the problem.

In 2001, soon after Bill Clinton was retired, he spoke at Georgetown Univ (IIRC) that spring. In that speech, he implied that the USA should 'play nice' with other nations, as we would not always be a Superpower and would eventually be a third-world nation hoping for handouts from the then superpowers. Madeline Albright has since made similar predictive statements.

[I wonder whether the USA is undergoing some dark, behind the scenes politicization? Is the USA undergoing a 'planned obsolescence'? We can certainly not sustain when professional jobs are being outsourced to India and elsewhere and millions of illegals are coming in to clean toilets and be subsidized in their health care, social services, and education by the remaining American taxpayer-workers.]

"Assuming these rates of increase do not rise – a tenuous assumption at best – our population will rise by an added 200 MILLION in less than 50 years."

If you think traffic congestion is bad now, just wait. The best part is, most local and state governments can't afford to build new roads, and onerous regulations implemented since the 60s make building new roads even more expensive.

You'll get people saying that we need "smart growth" to avoid these problems--but their idea of "smart growth" has nothing to do with population and everything to do with roads and housing.

Enjoy living in your high-rise chicken coup in 50 years. It'll be fun, won't it?

Illegal Alien Invasion

3. Another 1.3 MILLION arrive legally.

Isn't this a contradiction???

Anyway, law enforcement is needed south of the border that doesn't bend to the whims of left-wing illegal alien flooding activists.

A sustainable population in 2050 should be about 420-430M approx. Anything substantially higher or lower would spell doom.

The Democrats have got to stop blaming Bush for our manufacturing jobs going overseas. After all it was the Democrats who brought overseas into the United States to take our jobs. The Democrats started wars in Vietnam, Bosnia, and Somolia then brought refugees by the hundreds of thousands to fill our manufacturing jobs.

So, “Wake up America! Overseas is here, inside our country, taking our manufacturing jobs. Protest that! Protest the issuing of HB1 and HB2 Visas. No more HB1 and HB2 Visas should be issued for at least ten years. Americans need these jobs.”

By 2014 there will be 45 million illegal aliens in our country. Our elections will have become completely undermined, corrupted by then.

With the help of our government, they will have turned our elections into a three ring circus, of fraud and corruption. Watch what happens this coming election, and you can imagine what it's going to be like by 2014.

About 4,000 illegal immigrants are coming from Mexico EVERYDAY in California!!!
Nothing is being done. They overload the emergency rooms with their illegal and illegitimate children for stuffy noses and the bill is put on the hospitals. Hospitals and emergency rooms are closing in record numbers her in So. Ca. because of the non-insured illegal alien and the insured WORKER who is here LEGALLY and PAYS TAXES, doesn't have a hospital to go to because of it. This problem far exceeds the terror problem and nothing is being addressed.
I started telling the Republican Committee/fund-raisers I will not contribute unless someone makes a stand and helps stop this ambush.
