Half a billion by 2050 is very doable given the fertility rates of new immigrants. Like it or not the vitality of a civilization is quite correletaive to population growth. Growth is good, stability is stagnation, and decline is decline. Look at Europe. Look at Europe in 2050.

And who said all these new illegals would be Mexicans?

Many of them will be muslims from the US friendly middle-east and Indonesia. And, thanks to our open border policy, many of them are here already.

They will announce themselves in new and spectacular ways any day now.

In theory, due to merely population constraints, the illegal immigrant population should be slowing down. To date, this doesn't seem to be the case.
