SNOPES: Photograph shows John Kerry at a 1970 anti-war rally seated near Jane Fonda
Note: the photographer and Corbis do not allow FR to link the html of this photo. They don't seem to mind other website stealing it and hosting it on their own servers.
F. Democrats.
most thinking people will get the point that Breck Girl is MIA, it's the ones that don't think that I'm worried about
I agree. Let the Dems keep this "we met before" thing alive. LOL! It wil give Cheney the opportunity to say "So what? Then the debate is only the SECOND time we met." and then hammer that message home as many times as possibe. Either way you look at it, Edwards was absent big time. I loved the jab about Edward's home town paper calling him "Senator Gone". This is going to leave a mark.
If you and Piper weren't watching, here's what you missed.
Yes. The fix was definitely in with Bolshevik-Lehrer at the first debate. The Left knew that the foreign policy debate was a must win for Kerry, at all costs. With Lehrer's help, Kerry survived to fight another day. Nonetheless, massive vote fraud is still their only hope now.
not quite that low, a bit over 500,000, but that's not a lot of people anyway. More people probably watched the end of the Yankees-Twins game tonight than Matthews

That would be a good sign to wave when Edwards shows up at campaign spots... Also, maybe put Edwards on the back of milk cartons or something
"Have you seen this Senator from North Carolina, he was last seen wearing 20 pounds of hair gel and chasing an ambulance..."
How do you conclude that I am bashing Bush?
I am praising the VP and wondering why the President did not do as well as I know he could have done.
The Presidents performance (not in substance) was poor and only an ostrich would conclude otherwise.
If I wanted to bash Bush there is plenty of ammunition other than the debate.
more like
Have you seen this Senator from North Carolina?, he was last seen with a huge elephant in a dress on stage... :)
I've never seen him that angry -- or angry at all, for that matter!
Cheney never swore Edwards in as a Freshman Senator, never worked alongside him in the Senate, and Edwards hasn't been seen in the Senate since his run for President. Cheney may have met him at a prayer breakfast, but they have yet to meet face to face in the Senate. Afterall, Cheney is the President Of The Senate.
Online polls:They get hits, therefore ratings for the sites themselves, nothing more.
Well, Sissy Matthews' ratings are usually 0.1, which translates into 100,000 sets of nationwide eyeballs who have cable TV. A 1 share is equivalent to saying 1,000,000 viewers.
I am always immensely impressed with Cheney on interviews and debates like these. Cool and calm under spurious attacks - I believe he will have stopped the perceived momentum loss in the GOP campaign since last Thursday. He was able to clearly articulate the President's message and strategy, despite the poodle's puppy nipping at his ankles.
Also, the public will reflect on the fact that this man loyally follows George Bush, and that must mean that despite Bush's debating skills or verbal eloquence - his directions and policies are the right ones for the nation.
I don't see any eye contact there.
Did Edwards ever tap Cheney on the shoulder and introduce himself?
"Your rhetoric would be more credible if there was a record to back it up." There is no record to back up the rhetoric.......BEAUTIFUL AND LIKE A LASER !!!
More of the equivalence game they play.
Also, we have again heard how Bush divided this Country! The way I remember it, the democrats began their quest for power and that is what began this division! I mean, come on!
"Problem is that Kerry-Edwards is already running this photo...
I don't see any eye contact there.
Did Edwards ever tap Cheney on the shoulder and introduce himself?"
What a dumb comment - does that very instance captured in the picture represent everything that happened before or after? The correct criticism should be that the event was a minor social event (Prayer Breakfast) and does nothing to take away from the VP's criticism of Edwards never bothering to show up to do his job. Breakfast is NOT a job!
