Hi everyone. My Dad has had two strokes in the last few days. He is only 64 years old. So far, he is very weak and confused but is still able to talk. The doctor is warning of the strong possibility of more strokes with progressing severity.
Will you please pray for my dad and my family as we deal with this?
Thank you all. It means so much.
That's neat! A very nice remembrance for you added to those you already have to sustain you in your grief.
Will pray for your father and your family. May he realize a full recovery and may you all enjoy his road back to good health as we approach the birth of Christ. We wish you all a very Merry Christmas with your dad receiving the best Christmas present of all....his health!!!
To remind everyone, my dad was determined to vote for President Bush during early voting the week before the election, despite being in the last days of his life. We took him by ambulance and he voted inside the ambulance with the help of an election official. The pictures are at post 173.
I remember that and won't ever forget it.My mother has received a letter from President Bush AND a letter from FORMER President Bush! I haven't seen the letters yet, but my mother says they both talk personally to my mom about my dad. (not form letter stuff)
Oh, this is so great to hear.
The Bush's continute to surprise, and always pleasantly so.
Thanks for this information. And bless your family.
How wonderful! Thank you so very much for sharing this with us!!!
Well, this post is the first one I have read today. It made me cry both sad tears and happy tears. Your Dad must have been a very fine man. How kind of both Pres. Bush and former Pres. Bush to write to your mother. I wonder if a Freeper at the White House told them? Freepers really are wonderful aren't they!
Wow, what a beautiful ending to a beautiful life. To vote for the man you want to lead our country and then pass on to a better place. What a memory for all of you. Yes, am sure your dad was celebrating as well. It's so sad to lose a parent but boy, your dad went out like no other. God bless you all and peace to your dad's soul which I know he now has. So, I will wish you all a Merry Christmas knowing you will remember your dad with much love and happy thoughts.
How wonderful our President & former President are to give recognition to your loyal beloved father. I'm sure your family will treasure these letters along with the memories of your father.
Dear Lord, Help this family through this time. AMEN
Have a very merry Christmas, texasflower. And may our Lord send you special blessings.
How Wonderful, Texasflower! The Bush Family is so Kind and Gracious!
I will never forget how your Dad wanted to vote for our President, in spite of his illness! Your Dad has been a Blessing and an Inspiration to many people, and I Glorify and Praise our Loving Lord for those Special Blessings He Granted.
Sending much Love in Christ to you and yours, with abundant hugs!(((((Tammy)))))
I had a feeling some FReepers were going to step up to the plate on that for you and your mom and family. How wonderful.
It seems to set a capstone on your father's dedication to his family and country.
May God bless you and your family. I'm sure your dad knows about the letters.
I will let you know what the letters say, after I read them at Christmas. I'm nervous, but excited too. My mom said they are very nice and very comforting.
It has been easy to share my dad with such loving people as freepers!
After I read them at Christmas, I'll post some or all of the contents of the letters.
What ever my mom is comfortable sharing. Knowing my mom, she probably won't mind having all of it posted. She has been amazed at the outpouring of love from here, even from the first prayer request right after he got sick.
Thank you for your kind words!
Merry CHRISTmas
Hi, texasflower -- thanks for that update. What a special treat and comfort those letters must be to your family!
You know, though -- that kind of post simply canNOT be your "final post" to this thread, not with that teaser! We'll definately want more info after you get to see the letters :o)!
Happy holidays to you and yours -- bittersweet, to be sure, but what a precious legacy your father left your family, and how blessed we are to be a part of it.
I see you've just addressed my post's topic -- hugs to your mom, and you, too, with prayers for your comfort and peace this season.
Prayers for your dad, and also for you and your family so that you might be the support he needs in this difficult situation.
God bless you all.
Special letters to a special lady for her special man. I hope their words ease the pain of her (and your) loss.
