Bush Poster Child
If the picture of little 3-year-old Sophia Parlock crying after some Kerry-Edwards supporters tore up her Bush-Cheney poster got to you, well, you weren't the only one. President Bush and even first pup Barney were dismayed too, we hear. It happened at a West Virginia rally last week for Democratic running mate Sen. John Edwards, to which Phil Parlock brought his daughter. After seeing the picture of the tearful Sophia on her dad's shoulders, aides said the president was sending her a little note Friday along with a signed campaign poster and an autographed photo of the prez and his dog. "Dear Sophia," Bush penned, "Thank you for supporting my campaign. I understand someone tore up your sign. So I am sending you a new sign and a signed picture. Please give my best to your family. Sincerely, George W. Bush." And on the picture, he inked: "To Sophia, Best wishes from me and Barney." Phil Parlock tells us it really wasn't necessary. "He already said 'Thank you' when he hugged her" at a previous Bush rally they attended, he says. "She bragged for days."See the picture:

Warning if you click the link you will be at DU where obcenity and stupidity blend in a sometimes comincal sometimes irritating way.
I wonder how often the Secret Service checks that place out. If some of those folks aren't severely unbalanced, they do a really good job of portraying it, and as they realize they are going down, they're losing it.

So, do you think those paragons of childrens rights advocacy, Diane Sawyer and Katie Couric are rushing to book the child and her dad on their morning shows? They would only do so to rip the dad for 'taking that poor child into hostile territory and stirring up trouble'.... (their likely spin, not mine)

The picture in the link has been cropped. The large, beefy union THUG, still holding pieces of the ripped sign and jeering at the toddler, does NOT show in the cropped version.

So glad to see someone else knows that "me" is not a dirty word. But is it really correct that Barney should be first since he is a dog? Just wondering.
To: Bushiefan
Someone earlier mentioned this. It really does make sense that it would be "me and Barney".

Thanks for the support and thanks for the welcome to Freepers territory. There is a question that people have. And that's what Mr. Parlock refuses to press charges for assault on the guy. He's clearly guilty, and is still holding part of the evidence in his hand in the pictures - both.
I suggested that it's because if the family wished to attend a future opposition event, they would prefer not to have themselves singled-out immediately by having a police bodyguard in tow. But I'm just guessing. And I wonder if, now, you wouldn't get that, anyway.
I would HOPE he decides to press charges.

The DU has got to have the most freakin clueless bunch of fools in the solar system I go in there once in a while to lurk when I need a laugh. They are so incredibly stupid that they can't even understand the simplest news article. If it's not what they want to here then it's automatically a conservative conspiracy.

Just beautiful! Our 21/2 year old grandaughter asked her mommy the other day if she could go see Donald Rumsfeld. When her mommy told her no, she asked then, can we go see George W Bush? One of her favorite sayings is GO W!

Really?
Did he get an "Acid Facial" or "Cement Overshoes"?
In all probability he got promoted to shop steward, more money and less work!

So has the rough and tough union thug bastard been ID'd yet? I am telling everyone I know who is in the market for a painter for their house or office. DO NOT HIRE A IUPAT UNION PAINTER! DO NOT GIVE THESE THUGS YOUR BUSINESS!!! If they don't get it...show them the picture of poor Sophia.

"Pressing charges" is no automatic thing. Ask Don Adams and Terri Adams about what happened to the smallish Don after he was beat and kicked by IBEW thugs from a particularly fond of violence Philly local. Ask "Fast Eddie, the Ladies Man" Ed Rendell -- who said at the time that "He had it coming to him".
Ed was Mayor of Philly. The brilliant, kind-hearted and so charitable DA -- Lynne Abraham pressed charges alright. Against Don.
Eddie baby is now "beloved" Governor of Pennsylvania. Such a mensch.

The story about the ripping didn't suprise me... my sister is fairly young and whenever we show our Bush support, the hateful liberals there have always targeted her, flicking her off, saying "F-- You," telling her she's evil. It's horrible
As much as I may disagree with a Kerry supporter, I would never, no matter age, sex, color, whatever, step down to this level.

Goodness that is the DU site people here reference!
I am sure the average age there is 21
People there with signatures that have links to "George W Bush" nude pics. Jeesh
What a joke!
I bet they hate the fact that the FReepers make the news and they do not.
I wonder what they were writing when Rathergate broke thanks to FReepers!
LOL

WELCOME spiderman9 and big_sis_10!!! Photo post #122... siblings????
errrr... not only is it mean, bad manners to take candy from babies (or snatch a poster from a babies hands and rip it up)... it's not very PC. Especially coming from the PC camp.
