I think little Tammy's 'jump the shark' moment was that whinny speech about a year ago with the pink tie.

You would be surprised how little Dashle is liked by the flamethrowers at DU.

Many want him to lose so they can get a "better" leader in the Senate.

Lets hope the Thune landslide is indistiguishable from the Bush landslide.

I recently spent a week in Aberdeen, Daschle's hometown. At least in the circles I was traveling in, productive people in industry, there was vocal disdain for Daschle. It was also noted that the Native American vote would be 110% for him. I think there is a problem here. The native Americans by law are sovereign on their ancestral lands but they have the power of the vote to prevent others from deciding their own government.

All of his family members are valuable becase of HIS position in the Senate. I have to wonder how useful they all will be as lobbyists when Tommy is no longer in power.

Yes, you must factor in the dead Indian vote for Daschle.

I'll bet they didn't poll Shannon county.

That one will hold back its results until almost all
other results are in, then it will magically come in with
just however many das hole votes are needed.

It's not surprising. SD has to ask: Would you rather have a Senator who will vote with you on national issues who is in the majority or a Senator who will vote against you on national issues who is in the minority?

The best argument for Daschle has always been that if he becomes majority leader, SD will benefit.

No chances Daschle will be majority leader in the next decade. Even if he gets re-elected, he will probably not be minority leader.

"A new independent 500-person poll from Rasmussen...

Why this trend to a smaller and smaller sample size? IIRC, my college statistics class in the '70s taught that the sample size required for a low margin of error is 1100 to 1300 people.

"Just curious, Why is Breaux retiring?"

Breaux received an offer of a huge salary to become a lobbyist.

Hopefully, he will be replaced by David Vitter, a great guy who supports the president 100% in the war on Islam.

I expect that you will hear a lot about David Vitter in the future as well as Bobby Jindal. Bobby Jindal is running for a house seat. Jindal is one of the most intelligent visionaries that has come on the political scene in decades. I am ashamed to say that Bobby Jindal, son of Indian immigrants, did not win the last Louisiana governor's race because of racism. Virtually everyone here who I spoke with said they "voted against Jindal because he is not white" instead of really voting for the Democratic candidate, Kathleen Blanco. Curiously, Blanco means "white" in Spanish.

Zero.
