Retired Maj. General Hodges, Killian's supervisor at the Grd, tells ABC News that he feels CBS misled him about the documents they uncovered. According to Hodges, CBS told him the documents were "handwritten" and after CBS read him excerpts he said, "well if he wrote them that's what he felt."

Thanks! I do believe that Hodges just hung CBS out to dry with his interview with ABC. CBS lied to him and he called them on it! Gotta love it!
So Rather's CBS forged (or was given forged) documents that were so stupidly done that they are about as convincing as a $200 bill with George Bush's face on it, then rams through shoddy "verification" over the phone, then immediately dumps them into the Sixty Minutes slime machine. It's so breathtaking. It sounds like something Goebbels would have done.
LOLOL. Flaming in more than one respect, one might imagine.
Hatred can only drive nuts like Moore to such depths. This has to be deeper, they have to believe they have so much at risk politically that they can't afford to lose. They are being driven by global issues, money and ideology. I can only think that the Bush team has done more to damage them than we know.
Thanks to all re: the Kenneth story.
I appreciate your taking the time to explain.
"Is that fan flung fecal matter I see?"
LOL, reminds me of how we once put this in our HS "Underground" newspaper: When the excrement hits the air circulation device.
Me and the other "conservative" fought for that sentance, as opposed to the shorter one!
"Is that fan flung fecal matter I see?"
When the s**t hits the fan, there is enough for everyone!
Oh my...I can't keep up with all this....
I asked the same thing, and was pointed to copies of Bush's service record. One document, with an official, typeset letterhead, did show the PO box as 34567 - but it was the address for the 147th Fighter Group (the parent unit), not for the 111th FIS.
WHy defend a type written document when you have a handwritten one proving authenticity, nah these documents are thre one and only.
Why is the TANG using a civie PO Box? Military have their OWN mail rooms.
THIS IS ASTOUNDING!
This is truly CORRUPT!
This is an attempt by mapes and CBS to bring down a PRESIDENT based on a lie.
Maybe dan rather is going to get his just 'do' over this...if this is how 60MINUTES and CBS has been running their newsroom, if this is what passes for investigative integrity in their world, if this is how they present the so called news to the American people...then it is time that CBS cleaned up its house or shut down their news programs.
So what will they blame this development on, Richard Mellon Scaife's checkbook, Karl Rove's mind control beams, or all of the above?
Danny Boy said he would report any news to the contrary.
I guess we will be hearing about Hodges on Monday, if not before.
In 1991, PO Box 34567 Houston TX belonged to Ashland Oil. I don't know about back into the 1970's. The combination 34567 in an address is one that sets off all the fraud alerts in my own companies mail order business. Credit card orders with addresses like that always get verified with an address search or a phone call to the customer. But I guess CBS news can't be held to the same standards of verification that we use to sell somebody a $12 t-shirt.
"ABC's on a tear"
They certainly are, they're #3, and they've had it!
This story gets more bizarre with every turn, doesn't it?
If I have to hear this about CBS one more time.......Oh great, here is the rerun of Tony Snow sitting in for O'Reilly. On this show you will see some former exec VP of CBS, who "oversaw" 60 mins. This guy will say that 60 mins is "impecable in its research and sourcing"......and by the way he also will ridicule bloggers as pajama-wearing keyboard cowboys......or something like that!
