In 1991, PO Box 34567 Houston TX belonged to Ashland Oil. I don't know about back into the 1970's. The combination 34567 in an address is one that sets off all the fraud alerts in my own companies mail order business. Credit card orders with addresses like that always get verified with an address search or a phone call to the customer. But I guess CBS news can't be held to the same standards of verification that we use to sell somebody a $12 t-shirt.

If you don't mind me asking I would like to know how you found this? Sounds like something I might need to know how to do someday.

Houston Post Office should have a record of P.O. Box 34567 in Houston TX.

Probably the old clerk is retired by now, would probably take some digging.
