ELECTION 2004 FBI docs say China funded Kerry Suggest exchange with Beijing for aerospace technology

The legal watchdog group Judicial Watch announced the release of recently declassified documents that indicate Sen. John Kerry accepted laundered contributions from the communist Chinese government for his 1996 re-election campaign.
In exchange, Judicial Watch suspects, the presidential candidate might have arranged meetings between Chinese aerospace executives and U.S. government officials.
"These disturbing FBI documents raise further questions about Sen. Kerry's involvement in what looks like a quid pro quo [cash for meetings] with the communist Chinese," said Judicial Watch President Tom Fitton.
An Insight magazine report published by WND earlier this month revealed a new photograph has emerged showing the Massachusetts senator in Beijing working with a company associated with the Chinese military.
Judicial Watch obtained the FBI documents, related to the "Chinagate" investigation in the 1990s, through Freedom of Information Act and Privacy Act.
The "Chinagate" probe looked into the Clinton campaign's acceptance of contributions from Chinese government sources.
Among the documents released is an investigative outline [PDF file] dated March 27, 1998, that details the FBI's "proposed areas of inquiry" into the actions of Democratic fund-raiser Johnny Chung.
Those include questioning Chung about meetings Kerry set up with China aerospace executives and about a fund-raising event for the senator in Los Angeles.
The other document, [PDF file] dated Aug. 24, 1998, requests a polygraph of Chung, mentioning he laundered contributions for the Clinton/Gore '96 election campaign and for Kerry.
Judicial Watch is appealing the FBI's decision to keep portions of the heavily redacted documents secret.
Chung pled guilty in March 1998 to election law violations and, in a plea bargain, began cooperating with the FBI.
The Washington, D.C.-based group represents Chung in a lawsuit against Justice Department officials who, during the Clinton administration, leaked information about Chung's cooperation with the department's Campaign Finance Task Force.
This is totally being buried by the media.
This is treason, selling out the country to our enemies.

This issue had no effect on clinton/gore and it is doubtful it will have any harmful effects on kerry. Much of the American public apparently does not care where dems get their money or how it will affect this country 10 years down the line.

Let's also not forget the $millions that Clinton got from the Riadys of Indonesia, owners of the Lippo Group conglomerate.
Indonesia is an interesting country. It's 88% Muslim, but has a wealthy ethnic-Chinese minority. One of the wealthiest ethnic Chinese families is the Riady family:
Lippo, in case you're wondering, is a huge conglomerate based in Indonesia. Its assets are estimated at $6 billion, and it concentrates mainly on banking and real estate in Indonesia and Hong Kong. It also does infrastructure projects in China and owns Lippo Bank of California. It was founded by Mochtar Riady, who rose from poor circumstances in Jakarta to become a highly successful executive at the private Bank Central Asia before founding his own empire. The family interests are represented by his sons Stephen in Hong Kong and James in the United States.Could the Lippos be the Chinese/Islamist connection?The Riadys are members of predominantly Muslim Indonesia's tiny but fantastically successful ethnic Chinese minority. Last year Forbes magazine wrote that Indonesia had 10 billionaires, six of them new. Most, including Mochtar Riady and Liem Sioe Liong of the Salim Group, owner of the bank where Mr. Riady got his start, have close ties to Indonesia's President Suharto. In case you're wondering whether Mr. Hubbell is an expert on Javanese legal customs or perhaps Irian Jaya property claims, the Riadys are also old Arkansas hands.
One of Mr. Riady's early U.S. investments was Worthen Bank of Arkansas. In 1984, in a partnership with Arkansas financier Jackson Stephens, Lippo bought $16 million of Worthen stock and installed James Riady in Little Rock as a director of the bank. "Mochtar Riady and Jack Stephens owe their friendship to the troubles of another noted financier, Bert Lance," a 1985 story in this newspaper reported. At one point Mr. Riady had offered to buy Mr. Lance's 16% stake in the National Bank of Georgia, but later withdrew, and the shares were eventually sold to Ghaith Pharaon, front man for the corrupt Bank of Credit & Commerce International.
Curiously, Lippo brushed up against the BCCI scandal again in 1991, when its Hong Kong Chinese Bank offered to buy the Hong Kong Bank of Credit & Commerce after regulators seized it. The purchase fell through, but one BCCI executive ended up as a senior vice president of Lippo Group Marketing; he was among four Group former BCCI officials reprimanded by a Hong Kong judge in 1995 for laundering money for drug baron Law Kinman. The money-laundering did not involve Lippo, and a spokesman tells us the executive has since emigrated.
The Worthen purchase started a period of intense collaboration between Stephens and Lippo, with a wide variety of deals, including the purchase of Hong Kong Chinese Bank. A 1994 report by Hong Kong's Securities and Futures Commission criticized a Lippo acquisition in which it was assisted by Stephens Finance. An official of Stephens Inc. told us this week, however, that all business affairs between the Arkansas investment giant and Lippo ended in the late 1980s.
But a relationship seems to remain between the Riadys and President Clinton. The Lippo boardroom in Hong Kong is decorated with a portrait of Mochtar Riady with Bill and Hillary (as well as a photo of Stephen Riady and President Bush). The family patriarch was invited to the Clinton inauguration. James Riady attended the pre-inaugeral economic summit in Little Rock, the Asian-Pacific Economic Conference in Seattle in November 1993, a June 1994 salute to Vice President Al Gore in Washington, and was on hand for President Clinton's November 1994 visit to Indonesia. In connection with the Jakarta visit, Commerce Secretary Ron Brown staged an orgy of contract signings for U. S. business ventures in Indonesia.

I wonder what the Yale connection is. I looked into their history graduate program in the seventies. At that time, the professor teaching the Middle Ages was a famous Marxist. so, maybe Yale is the common denominator in communist leaning Clintons and Kerry. At the very least, it helps explain why the Clinton DNC picked THIS obscure senator.
Thanks so much for posting this article. I had forgotten about Kerry's involvement in Chinagate. An update on Loral's involvement. Dr. Wah Lim and Dr. Yuli Lee ran like trapped rats until Clinton/Kerry bailed them out. They are the ones who, with Schwartz's help, transferred some of our most important technology to China's aerospace corp. And you can read the papers to see that China has made immediate use of that technology.
Myself and several other aerospace executives went to both Chris Cox and Dana Rohrabacher to try and stop these men. Do you know where they are today? They are sitting on our top technology board in Washington DC, reviewing all of our latest and most top secret technology, which is under the FCC. I sacrificed my career to try and stop them. What good did it do? None. They silenced Rohrabacher and Chris Cox is part of the problem. His so called report was no more than a whitewash of it all. God help us all. They in Washington are all tainted. It isn't just the Democrats, its the Republicans too. The Bush family has a lot of money in China, or did have back in the 80's according to friends of the family.
