In an interview posted today on the website of a major Frankfurt newspaper under the title "George W. Bush Lied to Me," star actor Will Smith had some interesting things to say about the USA, President George W. Bush, Michael Moore and the September 11 terror attacks among other things.
When asked if 9/11 had changed anything for him personally, Smith answered:
No. Absolutely not. When you grow up black in America you have a completely different view of the world than white Americans. We blacks live with a constant feeling of unease. And whether you are wounded in an attack by a racist cop or in a terrorist attack, Im sorry, it makes no difference.
It is interesting to note that, on a certain level, Smith is comparing American police officers, those charged with protecting society, with Islamic terrorists intent on destroying America and everything it stands for. Smith implies that racism is so rampant among Americas police that it is a threat equal in magnitude to black America as that of international terrorism. Instead of seeing 9/11 as a traumatic watershed event that contributed to uniting black and white America and healing racial tensions, Smith seems to believe that the terrorist attacks have had little impact on what he sees as the poor state of race relations in the USA.
Smith: "UN the Future, Fahrenheit 9/11 Funny and Interesting, Bush Lied to Me"
Smith also praised the United Nations as the idea of the future and mentioned that he had been in contact with Kofi Annan. He stated that he felt lied to by President George W. Bush and his administration when it came to the war in Iraq. He also had the following to say on Michael Moore's new film Fahrenheit 9/11:
I found the film very funny. I found it interesting, and if it contributes to more people waking up and looking into things and drawing their own conclusions, then that is a good thing. However, one should not view the film as the Bible.
Smiths audiences in Germany and elsewhere in Europe will certainly be highly receptive to the actors views on his own country and will, as a result, likely flock in greater numbers to his film "I, Robot." What Americans make of all this is another matter indeed
we may have another Johnny Depp episode on our hands...
No great loss here, 'cause he's such an awful actor that I ignore anything where he's involved anyway.
The sound of my "Wild, Wild West" DVD hitting the wall. Sorry for the noise.

Also sorry for the double post.
Well, Shill smith has just shot himself in the foot. I know all the freepers will remember his comments. He must be living in a paranoid little hate whitey world. He is a sad excuse for an American. I despise commies like him who hide behind their race. He was a successful actor and was liked by many white people. Shill is really just a little black racist, who has riches and so called fame. Shill's comments are those of a elitist fool. I am glad he never joined the military. I would have had his sorry racist butt, either soldier or join the soup line. I like the speech President Bush gave, in saying "either you are with us or against us". Shill has chosen the latter in his remarks and attitude. It hurts when any American is killed by terrorist attacks. 9/11 didn't affect Shill, but he thinks the terrorist will cut him some slack because of his race and it's not his problem. Terrorist will kill anyone and race doesn't matter, it is the message they want to send to their enemies. Shill is a sad excuse to even be in America and enjoy our freedoms. I ask all freepers to remember this clown's comments. We can have an impact on his career and popularity. Let your families, friends, and neighbors know what the clown thinks and says. We together can hurt him in the pocket-book and relieve him of his so called star status. Let's make an example of all these hollydud anti-american celebrities. In closing, Shill! Don't call me Brother, unless you really mean it!! ( It took many a village to raise(Shill) the idiot. Signed a military retiree and police officer. Bush/Cheney 2004
I realize that Will is trying to 'keep it real', but does anyone honestly think that Will Smith has a constant feeling of unease while counting his millions?
Gimme some of the unease, please.
I'm pretty sure I could insulate myself from an awful lot of hatred in a $10 million mansion.
And Will -- 19 foreign nationals piling airplanes into American symbols of power IS a little different than being harassed by racist cops. I'm a white guy, and I've been harassed by cops for being a young dude driving a Mustang. In fact, I'll bet that I've been harassed by cops far more often than you have since the day you cashed your first check from "Parents Just Don't Understand".
NEVER got to drive my OCC bike!
Axshully, I'm boycotting "I, Robot" for other reasons -- for ripping off one of the greatest pieces of science fiction -- the movie has absolutely nothing from the book. Garbage. BOYCOTT it.
Old Sarge, this one has been on my banned list for some time! If he isnt an example of affirmative action in show biz, then I dont know what! You can add all of what hollywood has to offer to the banned list as well, because they're all basically so trivial and banal as to be completely useless. I watch the classic movies when I want to see a film, and I dont need ANYTHING today's hollywood has to offer. BOYCOTT hollywood!
Oh, I agree. And the most dissapointing thing, is this:
Some of the most inspirational films in recent times have been done by actors/directors who have gone Left, or have always been Leftist but just now showing their true selves. It's a sad thing.
I'm only an ameteur writer; I don't have any illusions of greatness, but to waste my talents like these people would be, to me, a betrayal of the public trust.
Unfortunate. Smith appeared to be smart enough to keep his idiotic views to himself.
Guess not.
The old Wild Wild West series was so good that there was NEVER a reason to even buy that dud with Will Smith. Smashing it against the wall is the best possible use of it. The star of the original, Robert Conrad, personally despised Will's movie.
Like most Hollyweird idiots - overpaid prostitutes - Will Smith is obviously a total moron, and an absolute ingrate to boot.
Millions of white dollars went into his career success. I can assure you no more of mine will help this mentally challenged moron live in luxury.
Another racist, bigoted, rich, liberal-demokkkRAT scumbag who hates America. Why am I not surprised? I've never ssen anything the lowlife has ever done, so I can't say I'm gonna boycott his movies; I detest his kind, and have no plans to ever see his so-called 'work'. Eff him and his subhuman kind.
Excellent point. If you walked around Manhattan in the weeks after 911, the walls of buildings and street lamps were covered with "Missing" posters of young black people. The photos were incredibly poignant: people posed in their finest clothes - obviously on their way to some big event in their lives. All of them horribly snuffed in the World Trade Towers!
For an "actor" like Will Smith to have such a lack of imagination and empathy makes me question any worth he has as a performer. For shame!
When are these Hollywood morons ever going to learn? Don't they see it as even a little hypocritical, when they have multi-million dollar bank accounts and mansions and all the women and/or men they could possibly desire, to stand there and paint themselves as victims? Too bad. I liked will Smith. I thought he was funny. Now I see that he couldn't resist the urge to join the Dixie Chicks, Whoopi and the other pathetic pea-brains who just can't keep their mouths shut.
I started to sour on Smith after "Wild, Wild, West". Now I think I'll pass on his future fims
someone should tell the Fresh Prinz that California is the 3rd largest state. Maybe instead of being oppressed by the cops, he should have studied geography. The worst part of this, is I will have to convince all of my German co-workers that Will Smith as well as Micheal Moore is a complete idiot.
People like that don't bother me now. They're too down in their personal problems to consider other people. The problem with those specific people is that their circle of relationships consist of demagogues who encourage a hatred of white people and this country. 99% of the people who made those comments came from the era of segregation, and so it's like poking a stick to keep wounds open. It's pretty sad. Only God can heal wounds like that. Since I've read worse statement by other movie stars, I think I will withhold judgment about Smith. He's one of the few rappers who didn't turn gangsta, and I suspect he retired because people thought he was too 'soft'.
