Kerry/Edwards lawyers warn TV stations over Swift Boat ad

In Rush's closing segment he said that he just received a story or document saying that lawyers for both the Kerry and Edwards teams were sending out letters to TV stations warning them about showing the Swift Boat Veterans for Truth advertisement!

Helps the media ignore the content of the ads and just focus coverage on spinning the ads as 'dirty tricks'... and spinning themselves out of an audience.

Truth is a defense. The Dim loses must also show actual malice because Kerry is a public figure to prevail.

Putting the TV stations on notice probably heightens the TV station's theoretical liability.

But it won't stop these Clymers from threatening the TV stations with a lawsuit. I bet a lot of these TV stations will decline to show the commercial because of the mere threat of litigation.

Leave it to the Rats to put a chilling effect on freedom of speech.

You know...I cannot for the life of me imagine any one of these vets lying. They have to know they would be crucified anyway for what they were doing and...if they were lying..well, that would be even worse so... what would they have to gain? Nothing!

I don't think you could get that many people on board for a story that was not true. As Rush said...the opposition protests too much. We'll see how it all plays out.

Gosh you would think from the furor that this ad was as big as something humongous like....um....like, a 30 year old drunk driving charge, or an AWOL from National Guard service charge or a TVB ad with a chain dragging in the road behind a beat-up pick-up truck.
