Edwards: "I know, I know how much pressure you have been under and how hard it's been for you to decide this, John, and I'm grateful ..."

Kerry: "I'll show you how hard. Now turn around and bend over."

Have you heard yet what Glenn Beck said about Edwards? If yes, what did he say?

Choosing now saves him some embarrassment due to getting the plane repainted. I only saw a couple of pictures, but it looks like this logo replaces the word "President" ( Not "For President" ) after Kerry's name. I think some Democrats even thought it was arrogant. It also looks like they took of the slogan "The Real Deal" which he ripped off from Evander Holyfield

You are in Germany? That explains your attitude about the campaign.

President Bush gave an excellent speech to a huge crowd on July 4th. You can read it on the White House website, although it sounds better when you can watch it.

I suggest you check out the White House web site every few days, and you will see how many appearances and speeches he does make. In addition, the RNC has set up a formidable grass roots effort, connected both by e-mail and by team captains locally.

I think you will have a bit more confidence if you pay a little less attention to the media that is seen in Europe. They are playing to the European attitude about Bush, so there isn't going to be much positive heard over there.

National media did a black-out on Bush coverage during the 2000 election, after the democrat convention. Lots of people who weren't aware of the local visits and press coverage thought he wasn't campaigning. Free Republic carried news of all the campaign stops with in-person accounts of the crowds and pictures sent to us by a friendly Reuters photographer who has moved on to better things. We helped keep people aware of what the media was doing and kept people's spirits up.

I imagine the media will attempt another stunt like that this year. We are onto their tricks and they won't be nearly as successful...especially because Fox will cover speeches that the other networks ignore. With Fox's numbers climbing it will be harder for the other networks to control the television news.

At any rate, things are not as gloomy as you perceive, although I am not complacent. We will have to work hard to win because we have a formidable force arrayed against us. However, Bush, Cheny, Rove and the rest of the team know full well what they are up against.

I never thought of this "Portugal/Nazi" connection and a Terry Heinz (nightmare) first lady. Thoughts?

Hannity just said, "Kerry could have done better, at least Gephardt had experience." Hannity is like listening to Radio Disney....

National media did a black-out on Bush coverage during the 2000 election...

Up until the last stop in Wisconsin, where the national presstitutes ambushed us with the DUI charge (I was just far enough back to watch them but not attract attention).

I don't disagree that Kerry/Edwards is an awful ticket - we all do need to make sure we energize our base just as much as the dems...we need to

TURN OUT THE VOTE!

The last NC poll I have is 49-42.

I think Edwards will be worth between 5-10 in NC, so it will be close.

Temporarily, could Kerry pull ahead in NC? Sure. Will he? Time will tell.

(perhaps with patience and time you will learn the difference)

Pardon my continued amusement that you make statements such as these after accusing me of condescension just because I said, "Be happy." Not able to see the log in your own eye, apparently.

My optimistism rests on the fact that many of those polls are improperly taken, and weighted heavily toward Democrats, and in spite of that, Bush is winning in most, and has extremely high personal approval numbers.

My optimism rests on the fact that 80% of Bush's base (that would not be you) STRONGLY supports his reelection, while Kerry's 'base' consists of Bush haters and not Kerry supporters.

My optimism rests on the organization and hard work going on in the Bush grassroots campaign.

And my optimism rests on the fact that it is early July, the economy is strong, and improving, Iraq is settling, Bush is ahead in the electoral college polls, and the President is campaigning with vigor, strength and humor, while maintaining the dignity of the office of the presidency.

That, plus the fact that Kerry is a dweeb, and eventually the American people will find that out no matter how hard he tries to hide it, and that Edwards is a positively stupid choice for a VP.

But Kerry DID base his decision on the polls, so you and he are in agreement that they're valid ........

Edwards has money.

Ghepart did not have money.

Kerry made a gigolo's choice. (just as before)

With less than four years in the Senate and no other public service, John Edwards is the least experienced major-party candidate for President or Vice President we've had in the last century; possibly the least experienced in our entire history. At this time of war, can we really afford to have a novice leader one heartbeat away from being Commander in Chief?

"John Edwards -- he's no Dan Quayle."
