(California) Democrats Block Independence Day Celebration
Sacramento Union ^ | 7/2/2004 | John Campbell (CA Assemblyman)

Posted on 07/02/2004 2:26:37 PM PDT by mkj6080

In each of the 4 years that I have been a member of the state Assembly, we have had many "celebrations" on the Assembly floor. These "celebrations" are orchestrated by the Democrats who control the House and often involve singing and dancing. Every one of my 4 years have seen substantial celebrations of Cinco de Mayo (Commemorates the Mexican victory over the French at the Battle of Puebla), St. Patrick's Day (for the patron Saint of Ireland) and Chinese New Year's Day, among others. But never once have we celebrated America's Independence Day, the 4th of July.

So, this year, Republican Assemblyman Jay LaSuer of San Diego arranged for Vietnam war hero Admiral Jeremiah Denton to come to California to be a part of a 4th of July ceremony. As you may know, Admiral Denton was a Navy pilot in Vietnam who was shot down and spent 8 years in a Vietnamese prison. In 1966 while in prison, he was interviewed by North Vietnamese television in Hanoi after torture to get him to "respond properly." During this interview, he blinked his eyes in Morse code to spell out the word "torture." He was asked about his support for the war in Vietnam to which he replied "I don't know what is happening now in Vietnam, because the only news sources I have are Vietnamese. But whatever the position of my government is, I believe in it, I support it, and I will support it as long as I live." Four of his 8 years in prison were spent in solitary confinement. He later wrote the book When Hell was in Session, chronicling his experience in Vietnam....

It's all about not wanting to remind people why we tried to fight the Viet Nam War.

They want us to think we were invading a peaceloving country.

This man is living proof of the evil we tried to eradicate and Kerry tried to preserve.

" I would of never thought even the Demos would get this low"

I have long since quit trying to put a ceiling bottom to the depths to which they will sink. Seeing how low they can get seems to have become a recreational passtime for them.

Is there anything that the Dem's show true conviction for ...

That's the key word: CONVICTION! They want you in jail, eventually, for being pro-US. It might become a hate crime in our lifetime, unless The Sheep wake up and jump out of the boiling pot.

Anyone care to think that'll happen in November?

The Democratic leadership refused to allow him on the Assembly floor and there will be no 4th of July celebration. A memo from the Democratic speaker's office said "problems have arisen both with regards to the spirit, content and participation of various individuals with regard to the ceremony." Apparently, they said that he did not believe in the "separation of church and state" and they didn't like the policies he supported as a United States Senator and therefore they would not allow him to be on the Assembly floor or to speak.

The Constitution (Fundamental Law) of the Union of Soviet Socialist Republics

October 7, 1977

Article 52. Citizens of the USSR are guaranteed freedom of conscience, that is, the right to profess or not to profess any religion, and to conduct religious worship or atheistic propaganda. Incitement of hostility or hatred on religious grounds is prohibited. In the USSR, the church is separated from the state, and the school from the church.

Now you know what Constitution democRats are reading.

President's Remarks

Remarks by the President on Cinco de Mayo The East Room

THE PRESIDENT: Thank you all for coming. Thanks for being here. Thank you, all. Please be seated. Sintese. (Laughter.) Bienvenidos. Welcome to the Casa Blanca. This is the people's house, and we're glad you're here to celebrate Cinco de Mayo. Laura and I are thrilled so many came today. We're pleased to celebrate this important day with you.

It's my opinon that our leaders should be the first to set the example, that celebrating foreign holidays in our White House should also be discouraged.

Cool! the Sacramento Union is back. Is this only online, or does it come printed on dead trees too? I remember reading the Union as a kid and even then found it superior to that overstuffed left wing fish-wrap "The Flea"...I mean "The Bee". Besides, who could take a newspaper serious that was named for an insect?

It has almost been a year for me. I can not fathom being any happier than I am now, here in Tennessee. I pinch myself daily to check reality.

The Rat Party communists must be stripped of power at all costs. They are beyond repair and dangerous to the future of the United States. This is un-fing believable. The past three years I have fumed quietly but no more. These people are so dangerous that proactive measures are needed to get them out of office. There has never in the history of America been such a gaggle of miscreants and seditionists as what this party has now become. I know people have been critical of the idiots at DU for thier display of hatred towards conservatives, but unfortunately I have now come to know how they feel. My feelings towards democrats and liberals has morphed from disdain to full blown hatred as well.

California is run by the hate-America Stalinists, who DO NOT represent the views of the majority of Californians. Sadly, though, the determined minority has grasped control of the State Government.

This travesty isn't limited to California. Its happening at every level of government and part of the grand plan of the left to indocrinate all of our future citizens by their pet organization (the NEA) controlling our public schools. They teach that we live in a democracy, not a republic and advocate tyranny of the minority at all levels of government including the federal government. It's just like the Hildebeast said, the "common good (parasite class)" must prosper from the backs of the decent hardworking americans. The irony of this sad charade is the parasite class truly believes that the Clintonistas and the Rat party give a damn about them and that the rest of us owe them a living. What they fail to realize is that the Rats survival in the political arena depends on them never getting ahead. If they did, who in their right mind would ever vote for a democrat?

>>They are beyond repair and dangerous

Agreed. I know people say that DU is fringe and doesn't represent the average Dem voter. However, it certainly represents the trend in the political leadership. Moderates are becoming marginal in the Dem party.

But what can we do to fight them? Change must come from non-Republicans, no? And only 4 years ago, half the voters were satisfied with Al Gore, who was already showing clear signs of rabies at the time. People vote Democratic without thinking---how do you reach such people?

Other than not voting for them, I am not sure there is anything we can do except take back our public schools and abolish the NEA. Our public schools are nothing but indoctrination camps for revisionist history, fuzzy math, feeling good about yourself even though you can't read or write english, america bashing, and singing the praises of the UN. Before you know it, the "good little communists" are voting age.

All CA freepers need to hit the air waves on this one pronto!!!

I've sent this to Drudge, NewsMax, Townhall's C-Log, InstaPundit, Laura Ingraham, and a few other columnists.
Not sure if someone's put it on Lucianne.com yet, but it needs to be, for sure.

Personally, I will never, EVER allow another democrat try to say that they are "just as patriotic" as the rest of America, when they can elect scum like Spkr Wesson and the rest of his marxist pro-jihadist antiAmerican cadre in the Assembly.

Make sure this gets to every one of your fav talk show hosts.

if we can make this a true national story, perhaps we can pull CA into the Bush camp in Nov!

This goes far beyond the borders of California my friend.

I'm sure it does. But things usually get started in CA and move east. My email of it to friends said that.

As far as the President acknowledging them, well, some of it has to be done. Of course it should not be like our countries traditional holiday celebrations. But you won't see this WH do what the CA legislature did.

Now a Kerry/Clinton WH might be a totally different story, on the surface and in the actual house.
