I just came back from seeing the liberal propaganda film Fahrenheit 9/11. (Don't worry, I had a free pass to the movie theater, and SPENT NO MONEY on this abomination.)
These are the impressions and thoughts I have after seeing the movie:
1. This is the most virulent anti-Bush production that I have ever seen.
2. Obviously in a propaganda piece, only one side of the story is shown. It's a 2 hour long anti-Bush ad. What makes this movie particularily dangerous is (I'm sorry to say this) the skill and subtlety and humor that went into it's production. What I mean to say is that Nazi propagandist Joseph Goebbels, on his very best day, could not have produced such an effective and seductive piece of propaganda. Michael Moore has surpassed Joseph Goebbels, and is to be considered a dangerous virus in American culture.
3. It is interesting (and perhaps ironic) that Moore chose to speak of George Orwell at the end of the movie, considering that this film is nothing more than a 2 hour hate. (I think the hates in 1984 lasted 5 minutes.) There was very loud clapping and cheering at the end of the movie by the presumeably mostly leftist viewers. Maybe this was because I am far behind enemy lines in the People's Republic of Massachusetts. Maybe liberals are less psychotic elsewhere. But, I am deeply disturbed by the extreme level of anger and hate among the Democrats and leftists.
DO NOT UNDERESTIMATE THEM.
4. The way Satan is said to lie is to mix truth with untruth, thereby confusing his victim. Michael Moore understands this very well. He does implicate Saudi Arabia as an enemy of America, but then goes on to link President Bush to the Saudis and paints the President as an enemy of America as well.
5. I found it curious that before the movie projector was put on, the sound systen was playing songs about Cuba and Havana. It was just sort of freaky.
6. President Bush is portrayed as a bumbling fool who can't think for himself, and is controlled by his presumed puppet masters, the Saudis and the "super-rich elite."
7. People lacking the skill of critical thought, who go to the movies and believe everything they see, are going to view President Bush as the anti-Christ by the end of the film.
To sum up, it was UGLY.
It cannot be allowed to stand without a serious and vigorous rebuttal.
FYI and discussion.
If you are going to see this bile please buy a ticket for a small time movie and then go see it. This way Moore does NOT get your money. Give it to someone more deserving than this anti-American commie pig.
I don't know why Freepers get off thinking that this will be a box office bust & this is best ignored. Moore is a master propagandist and he knows exactly how to use disinformation to persuade sheeple. This film will break box office rewards and if we do not rise to it, it will have the potential to alter the election.
it can't be debunked amongst the "sheeple", because we don't have any voice in the mainstream media where they get their news from. who is going to debunk it, Katie Couric?
You have more "guts" than I do. I could not even set through 1 minute of what comes out of Michael Moore.
it won't be breaking any box office records, let's not exaggerate that aspect of it.
I had a free pass to the movie theater, and SPENT NO MONEY on this abomination.
"skill and subtlety and humor that went into it's production"
These are the subliminal tactics to de-sensitize viewers on the subject of homosexuality too. Generally speaking, people think that homosexuality poses no threat since all they've seen is humor surrounding the practice and its followers.
Moore is the single most dangerous man on the face of the earth today. His lies threaten the very foundations of freedom by driving wedges among the Western States and giving aid and comfort to our enemies.
Sorry, my bad... I wasn't thinking, I don't like exaggeration. It will nonetheless far exceed everyone's expectations.
Yep! Even the TV ads are misleading, as one ad I saw implied that Moore was firebrand to both conservatives and liberals, alike....giving the impression that he's an objective source.
It would be a good idea to compile a debunking "script" about the movie.
Thanks, I'm going to see it at midnight (all the other times were sold out here in Chicago since yesterday). I might post here if I think I can add anything.
Just like people believe that there were multiple shooters at the grassy knoll and that Saliere actually had a hand at killing Mozart. That is why I'm concerned.
It was the 'Two Minutes Hate.'
Each and every manipulation and lie should be rebutted and printed on flyers and distributed near the theaters showing what this movie is. Propaganda. Plain and simple. The hardcore will never change. But some poor schmuck just learning about politics would benefit from a flyer with logic and facts, just the facts would be enough. you dont even have to be pro-Bush. This is so clearly propaganda just basic reality check of Moores contentions easily decontructs his work.
USA Today, for once, said it well. This movie will turn existing Bush haters into more virulent Bush haters. I do not see it having too much of an effect on swing voters - however, it is part of a broader effort to try and chip at swing voters a few at a time - hence the broad-scale liberal offensive - if the liberals send out thousands of propaganda messages and each of them move a few voters, then eventually it amounts to a measurable change.
What we need to do is to quit worrying so much about idealogical rifts within the right wing and make sure that we counter the B.S. wherever and whenever it is spewed, to push affected swing voters back into the Bush column. Freepers are for the most part superb wordsmiths - and we all need to saturate the media and the blogsphere with letters that counter Moore's propaganda and paint the liberals, not Bush, as the liars. And, since the libs are basically trying to re-write the past, the best approach is to do a bit of research and resurrect the history that the libs are trying to hard to forget - and use the liberal's own words to discredit them.
