I suspected that al-Qaeda had support inside the Saudi royal family. After all, the overwhelming majority of the 9-11 terrorists came from the Saudi kingdom, and many of the terrorist "charities" have been tied to the Saudis.

This war has to do with oil only in that the people who hate us and want us dead just happen to be sitting on a lot of the world's oil and we need that oil maintaining our way of life. I for one am ready to turn the clock back 100 years on western civilization if that what it takes to end our dependence on the oil that comes from this part of the world. Where we have failed most miserably is that we have not made it a national priority to find other sources of energy to support our way of life. In the 50's we thought it was going to be nuclear (however you pronounce it!) and then the greens got a wild hair and we see what happened to that promised source of energy.

Oil security sites on the net reveal an attempt allready to seperate the U.S. Navy from securing/patrolling oil and container traffic routes in the Far East.
Iran is surely schemeing politically to see the U.S. removed as zenith security in the Persian Gulf...replace it with a Euro/slime/U.N. security navy.
The Political gaming will eventually surface in the future full on...when the U.N. has been parlayed and bribed.

China has made past overatures to the Saudi's..missiles and other technology.
One Security site marked the rift in the House of Saud which is leaning towards China as future military partner and economic.
