This is your daily ping for Wednesday October 06, 2004.

The VP debate over analysis day.

My take so far, VP Dick "Big Time" Cheney made Sen. John Edwards "The Breck Girl" cry.

Hehehe!

Imus says he was physically scared for Sen. Edwards. He thought Cheney was going to reach over and bite his head off.

Bernard's hate of the "neo-cons" is showing in todays show. For anyone to call Dick Cheney a neo-con is either uninformed or ignorant.

Dick (my guy) has consistently been a conservative throughout out his political career. Labeling him a neo-con is just a way of demonizing him.

Liberals fear him. Fear is good.

On October 5, 2004, Senator Zell Miller had a bunch of choice words for the press, generally on the subject of the press' misrepresentation of John Kerry's voting record regarding defense spending, and particularly on the press' assertions that Kerry's and Cheny's defense voting records were similar.

Senator Miller did a wonderful job, and he names names. If you didn't see him, take the time to check out what he had to say. The time to download and read the Congressional Record is worth it.

Some Rush threads from today. From what I heard he basically said the legal process will continue. This case has ramifications for everybody's medical records being kept secret not just Ma ha Rushdee. Could this go right up to the Supreme court?

But the thing to me, folks, is this election shouldn't even be close right now. The reason that it is close, they're reasons that have to do with things that, you know, Karl Rove and George W. Bush really don't have all that much to say about or control over. I mean demographics -- if we can be honest here for a second -- demographics are going to make it increasingly more difficult for Republicans to win in the future if things don't change as they are now. Many people who are voting have no context. I've got story after...

Given Fla's courts, it better. Their hatred of Republicans, wanting to nail Rush for something, IMHO.

BTW Rush did say he didn't do anything wrong, E.G. he didn't doctor shop. He just wants to protect his Medical Privicy.

I'm up past my bed time, so please forgive me if this isn't quite right.

Just saw the Fifth Estate on CBC, my friends to the south, yours to the north. They did a report on the VP. BTW do no P**S that man off!!

He flunked out of Yale. (I'm glad I'm not the only one the screwed up college). He went back to college, to avoid the draft. Then got married to avoid the draft, the got his wife pregnant, to avoid the draft.

BTW he lied about Iraq having 250,00 troops ready to invade SA.

Soviet Sat Photos didn't show them. (Like they weren't faked).

Oh BTW Hallaburton made nuker triggers for Libya!!

Sorry if spelling isn't right, Detroit public schools

Imus quote of the day:

October 7, 2004
Former Massachusetts Governor William Weld, who ran against John Kerry for the US Senate in 1996: "I think President Bush has done a good job. I think even domestically I'd buy the compassionate, conservative approach, rhetoric and inaction. I think the education bill is headed in the right direction. I think the faith based initiative is a great thing. I'm no cultural conservative, I'm on the other side of those issues but I can tell you that when I was Governor, the Catholic Church was the best social service agency that I worked with. President Bush is trying to unlock that kind of citizen energy and clerical energy and I think that's a good idea. I think President Bush can lose the debate and still win the election. That would be my pick. It's just very hard to win a debate against Senator John Kerry. He and Senator Edwards are two of the most articulate, attractive, very finely honed speakers. They are quintessential Senators if you will. Governors and Presidents are grumpier. Maybe it's because they have to sit in an office and make decisions all day long."
_______________________

Weld also told Imus that he and Kerry had nine debates in 96. One or two of them were in the "Townhall" format. According to Weld, Kerry is as good as Clinton when it comes to sitting on a stool and moving around a circular stage with a hand-held microphone.

Imus is ranting this morning. He says it "outrageous" that Brit Hume and Tim Russert were not picked to do the debates.

According to Imus, Schieffer is an ok pick. I agree.

Pretty funny.

Craig Crawford, CQ, told Imus that, "If this (the debates) is the Superbowl of politics, we need a wardrobe malfunction."

Imus, Charles and Bernard are going at it again about Russert and Brit Hume not being selected as debate mods.

Imus said that FOX is watched by many and they don't come any better than Hume. Bernard said, "FOX is the future!!" There was a little nervous laughter between all three.

I just had that feeling, again, that Imus has a lifeline in the event MSNBC ever goes down.
