***A tidbit from the Washington Post:
Among the many lawmakers in attendance was Sen. John F. Kerry of Massachusetts, the Democratic Party's presumptive nominee to run against President Bush in November. He sat in the third row stage left, with much of his view blocked by the cathedral's massive pulpit.***

I'm sure it was partisan seating. LOL! Best news I've heard all day!

It was on the scrolling thingy on the bottom of the screen. It said to check times on the web site.

Also the order of the service and the service music are on the National Cathedral's web site. National Cathedral. It's kinda slow.

***I just learned that he is Commander, Military District of Washington. He commands all of the troops stationed in Washington, D.C. I don't know whether it is his duty as Cdr, MDW to escort the President's widow...but it certainly seems proper to me.***

They said several times that it is his duty. He certainly did a good job.

I specifically wanted to hear the tenor singing Ave Maria. I have been watching continuously since they took the casket from the Rotunda. The tenor sings later ... I hope they show that. And then the Battle Hymn (a favorite) ... I hope they include that.

Wow, terrific! That makes three times the Battle Hymn of the Republic has been played this week.

The music was STUNNING. Every bit of it.

I want to say something nice about the Gores. I thought their attitude and demeanor was very appropriate.

Battle Hymn comes directly after President Bush, so we'll know soon. I could have sworn that I heard some of the processional anthem, but I was on the phone, so maybe I'm wrong.

Old media missed the boat on covering President Reagon, but the PEOPLE knew, loved, and remembered him. They were the dumb ones, not the American people.

I think we also buried/marked the death of the old media today.
WE were able to bypass the media to reach to each other as Reagan
used to bypass the then only three networks.

The three networks and CNN could not keep their sniping or pettiness
to themselves. WE were able to ignore them and skip right over them.
The left wing media wall is another wall Reagan helped bring down.

Watching the replay on C-SPAN

Does anyone have a link to GHWBush's eulogy. I've gotten a copy of the rest to re-read and study, but I can't find a link to this one

Thanks ever so much

Thanks for the info! I would love to be in San Diego to see the USS Reagan come into homeport. It was so neat when Nancy Reagan gave the order to "Bring the Ship Alive!"

It was the press pool that travels in him. That doesn't mean he couldn't have shooed them away if he raised a stink.

Well, I don't know. You've got me confused. If the press pool travels inside of Kerry how is he going to shoo them away unless he raises or lowers a stink? Very odd statement.

you'd have to be a low life to protest the funeral of any u.s. president, no matter how much i might disagree with that president.

Based on the signs, it was the "alternative lifestyle" crowd.
They thought they could make such evil comments about Reagan
as part of they effort to get more funding/attention for their aids deathstyle industry.
