I used to look forward to reading Geyer's view on world events, but I saw a change in her perspective about the time of the last election - cannot remember if it was during the primaries or during the Florida post-election. It seemed to me that she has always been anti-GW Bush.

Until today, I wasn't aware that she had gone over to the dark side. Then again, until today, I had forgotten that she was still alive! I hadn't heard about her in years and years. It figures that Chris Matthews would have her speak as a representative Republican.

No they have an "open" marriage.

lol That's the way I understood it, too. He can date whatever woman he wants and so can she. ;)

I remember that well from my own dear Father's funeral. It certainly is.

That's neat -- guess the USS Reagan has made it to its home port in San Diego! Wish my daughter was still there so I would have a reason to be back to San Diego.

"I don't know what the official protocol is, but they've been very vigilant about staying in the background. I bet they just didn't want the extra fuss, security, etc. that would have gone along with them being there. I'm sure they talked it over with Nancy . . ."

The President knows it's not "all about him". I'm glad they are taking a few days as well. This week has brought home to me how merciless the press was with Pres Reagan, and how present attacks on Pres Bush are so eerily similar. God Bless them both.

Doris Kearns Goodwin (Dem swine) is already starting to criticize the service. She says it was unbelievable that Clinton and Carter weren't allowed to speak.

I wouldn't go to such lengths to reason with these control freaks. Just ignore 'em.

I won't be able to hold up during that because my dad had Taps played at his own funeral.

To be fair, the New York Times obituary continued inside the paper for a few pages. But they gave it less space on their front page than the Ray Charles obit (which also continued on another page). And it was the ONLY article regarding President Reagan on the front page of the early version of the paper. The picture of Smarty Jones, the Belmont-losing horse, was about as large as President Reagan's. And to add insult to injury, there was a story about Kerry's potential running mates directly below and Abu Ghraib directly to the left of President Reagan's photos.

No U.S. paper has been as disrespectful to President Reagan's legacy over the past week --- except maybe the L.A. Times. There's a reason why some call the New York Times America's Pravda. I wouldn't be shocked if the real Pravda were less biased about Reagan's passing.

You sure saw a different look on hillary's face then my daughter and I saw -- everytime I saw her she was scowling! We went to Don Pablo's for lunch and the people behind us were talking about how her and Bill looked mad especially when Pres Bush was talking.

>>Fox said it's called "Goin Home"

I've got that on a Sam Cooke CD. Goes like this---

Nothin lost, all's gain, No more fret nor pain, No more stumblin' on the way, No more longin' for the day, Goin' to roam no more! Mornin' star lights the way, Res'less dream all done; Shadows gone, break o' day, Real life's just begun.

Ronan Tynans rendition of Amazing Grace is still giving me chills. He looked so passionate as he sang. I think the church even rocked a little when he hit those high notes...: )

I'm more inclined to think that they had to close their eyes to all of the crosses and religious symbols in front of them.

Michael Medved just said that, speaking as a professional critic, there was nothing tto criticize, (major paraphrase) in today's service.

Doris Kearns Goodwin and Michael Beschloss are both too partisan to be identified as 'historians.' They are operatives!!!!
