The webfeed captures are coming out much better than my TV captures, suddenly. I wonder if I need a new connection.
They must not have had that question on the citizenship exam that Petah took.
Those high-end hardwoods are beautiful! Hand-carved handles, with carved inlays. A smooth, brushed finish with no defects whatsoever.
It's a shame to have to put them in the ground!
CSPAN saying no aeral coverage of the entourage moving to the Capitol due to security (no fly zone).
Pics are great -- thanks for posting!
Dang - I have to go - thank you all for this - I really feel I am a part of it.
Detail Brumidi depicted George Washington rising to the heavens in glory, flanked by female figures representing Liberty and Victory/Fame. A rainbow arches at his feet, and thirteen maidens symbolizing the original states flank the three central figures. (The word "apotheosis" in the title means literally the raising of a person to the rank of a god, or the glorification of a person as an ideal; George Washington was honored as a national icon in the nineteenth century.
Did either one of you get a capture of that map Brit just showed of where the procession will go?
There's about to be a flyby...does that count?
Nancy looks worn. It would not surprise me if the old gal doesn't last long after this. She sure has been a class act. Man oh man I am hating to see Ronnie go. Tomorrow and Friday will be sad days.
Russ
Thanks for that picture.
Im telling ya I am losing it already. I dont know how our dear Freepers who are there are dealing with this.
really?, we were just discussing it at work, I remember the Nixon funeral. I also realize his tenure was a bit tarnished etc..I also realize that people really connected with Regan more. So does the presidents family have the most say so in what kind of procession takes place? Di Nixon lie in state at the capitol as well?
No aerial coverage -- that's too bad. It'd be neat to see the route lined with signs and people.
I just don't think the media know how much we respect and love President Reagan!!!
I saw my mother widowed twice in my life, when my father died, and then when my stepfather died.
I can't look at Mrs Reagan without remembering her.
Nixon decided AGAINST a state funeral
That is beautiful ... thank you for posting it
