I have waited and looked around and did not see this posted. NYPD and the FBI have found 5 empty identical suitcases in 5 different locations around NYC. Subway station, Penn Station, 2 government buildings and a sidewalk.
Also missing is a huge fuel tanker truck out of New Jersey that has vanished and was full.
This story was mentioned in the last hour...anyone catch it? The Fed's are thinking this might be a test run for terrorists to see what the response time would be to suitcases being left and found in a location ala Spain attacks. They also fear the gas tanker might be used to ram a building with explosives and level it.

You won't hear about stories like this, they tend to prove that we really are in a war with terrorists. This is not on the left wing main stream press agenda. They know that GW is the man to handle terrorism not f'ing. So until the first of the year of so you will read very little about stories like this. The MSM'ers cant' afford for the truth to get out, it will destroy the left.

You notice they didn't say how long it took for the police to notice these suitcases.
ROFLMAO ..... er just how might one determine how long something was there before you noticed it was there? ;-)
Rewind the video surveillance cameras to determine when the suitcases were placed - - - at the same time, get a bead on who placed them, and disseminate their mugs and physical characteristics. Unless there are no surveillance cameras; lesson learned in that case: better install a purveysive network of video cameras in all public places, with continuous loops at least long enough to capture events like this.

But do you actually think that we can avoid all trouble if we can actually record and track everyone, every public place, all the time? Willing to sacrifice your own money to pay for such a a surveillance system everywhere?

small aricraft Small aircraft have transponsers which can (and usually are) monitored by air traffic control.
They also typically weigh in the neigborhood of 2000 to 5000 pounds, and carry 30 to 200 gallons of fuel.
So how does my Mooney equate to a 50,000 +/- pound tanker loaded with 8000 gallons of gasoline?

Somebody needs to inform the police that there are a bunch of unclaimed suitcases in Scottsboro, Alabama. There may be a conspiracy here.

The FBI should dust the suitcases for prints. To see if there are identical unknown fingerprints on more than one of them. Of course, the success of this depends on whether they were wiped before being dropped, and how many people handled them. Most suitcases have some usable surfaces for taking prints.

But added to the missing tanker story out of New Jersey, the scenario becomes more threatening.Certainly a matter of concern.
What seems unlikely however is the physical size of this tanker and the fact that you cannot just drive somehing like this anywhere you want.
A smaller delivery type tank truck would be far more likely to be used.
This truck was also empty, and it could be that it was simply stolen.
The timing is what really sucks, with the election comming, so anything is possible and must be considered.

"Also missing is a huge fuel tanker truck out of New Jersey that has vanished and was full." From Article on the other thread:"According to the FBI and a New Jersey state coun- terterrorism team, the stolen vehicle (New Jersey license plates: T852SC) can hold 9,200 gallons of fuel. It was empty when it vanished from the TK Transport Terminal in Pennsauken, N.J., around April 8."

why can't we require all tankers and small aricraft to be immediately fitted with GPS systems so that they can be tracked at all times? SUV's and Mini-vans are generally heavier and carry more fuel than many small aircraft. Maybe we should add them to the list of potential weapons and fit them with GPS? Also, at this point, it would probably be prudent to install GPS in all empty suitcases. You can never be too safe.

Police Detonate Suitcases Near High School (Los Angeles)
POSTED: 5:02 pm PDT April 29, 2004
UPDATED: 7:31 pm PDT April 29, 2004
LOS ANGELES -- Thursday, a day when a terrorist threat against Westside shopping malls had people on edge, authorities took no chances when they were alerted to a couple of abandoned suitcases on a Glendora street and blew them up.
Actually, Glendora police spent more than three hours trying to find the owner of the bags, a dispatcher said.
They also called the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department, which dispatched a bomb squad.
When the owner could not be found, the bomb squad blew up the suitcases, then determined they had been empty.
Police found the suitcases at Palopinto and Rodeo roads, south of the Glendora High School, about 1:30 p.m., a police dispatcher said.

Why would someone even be carrying an empty suitcase - unless it had just been purchased? More likely, thieves stole full suitcases that had been left foolishly unattended long enough to be stolen, and then discarded the suitcases after emptying them of their contents.

It would be an interesting mental exercise (please do not infer any more than this) for American creativity to be used to inflict terrorism on Islamovermin.
The fact we are not actively pursuing this path is an interesting contrast to our Enemy, but I wonder:
Does it make sense to play with a completely different rulebook? Who will win in a fight where one fights dirty and one fights clean?

"5 empty identical suitcases in 5 different locations around NYC. Subway station, Penn Station" Maybe we should reposition away from NYC
I mean if were eventually going to do it after taking 10-15 casualties a day, why not just do it now?
